We flew home the five year anniversary of 9/11 it was def a little scary, but I felt that the security was so much better on that day. I mean....every little thing.

It is worth your sanity to do what you're most comfortable with. If you're going to spend that whole day freaking out, definitely switch. I know I personally couldn't fly that day.
