WWYD re first appt? (long...sorry!)

Hi ladies!

So my first appt was initially scheduled for 11/11 (I'd be maybe 8 weeks then). Then last week I had some light spotting and called my dr (if you recall the incident with the receptionist telling me I was miscarrying....Chat Icon ) and my dr. said I should come in the week of 10/26 for my first appt. So the appt was changed to 10/29) making me maybe 6 weeks.)

Now....the spotting has stopped, I feel pretty good (lil things here and there). A part of me wants to move the appt back a few days so we're more likely to see/hear something. I don't know if he told me to come in b/c I was upset when I called (which was his darn receptionist's fault). I know his practice usually waits 8 weeks for the first appt.

Then another part of me thinks, God forbid there is something wrong (ectopic, etc), it's better to get the bad news early?

OK, so after all this rambling-would you move the appt to maybe 11/2 just to give the lil peanut some time to grow and be more visible? Or just go next week with the chance of not seeing anything (and that will equal anxiety for me!)?

THANKS!!

I would keep the appt... JMHO though. We went when I was just over 6wks (I was having the same problems as you - and have a history of m/c and ectopic - so I was adamant on going) and we saw a heartbeat and heard it too... Put yourself at ease and keep your appt. You'll be a mess if you move it, and be worrying about any little thing that feels off until then.

HTH.

I went at 5w5d and we were able to see a heartbeat, not hear it obviously though. I would leave the appt you have for now. And Congrats! Chat Icon

I would go...and if you cant hear or see anything...you can go back in 2 weeks.
I was just over 6 weeks and saw the heartbeat. There is alot they can tell before 8 weeks, I would go- just to be safe! Good luck!Chat Icon

Just to relieve your anxiety, I would go on the 29th. It will make you feel better. You will most likely be scheduled to go back for the 11/11 or sometime that week anyway.

I went when I was 9 weeks and we saw the baby and heard the heartbeat which was great, but it was a nerve racking few weeks waiting and I had preggo symptom and no other issues, so I can't imagine how you would feel.

I would keep the appt and more than likely he will have you come back in two weeks anyway. GL!
