Re: Will you give your child the covid vaccine?
Absolutely not. Unless they require it for her to attend school that is.
ETA- The risk of Covid to her is so minuscule at this age that I really feel the risk of the vaccine ane the unknowns of what it will do to her body in the future is higher than the risk of Covid itself
So many of her friends had Covid. Not one was more sick than a head cold. Most had zero symptoms at all I do believe my daughter had Covid herself at one point

Re: Will you give your child the covid vaccine?
Even though I am got the vaccine, I will not have my son get it. He is 9 I just feel that is too young to get it. I don't know what I will do if it becomes a requirement for school.

Re: Will you give your child the covid vaccine?
I lit unsure but As of now no but if it’s required for school yes because I am not homeschooling!!
Honestly though this is a really hard choice IMO.
Either way carry risks. Getting the vaccine may have side effects rare but possible. Same with not getting it your child could catch Covid have extreme symptoms and even die from it while rare it’s still a possibility!!!
The worse part in both situations you won’t know till you get it!
It’s very hard decision. I personally know that if my child got Covid and was extremely sick I would be devastated that I could’ve prevented it even worse if they died from it.
Both of my kids had it and luckily didn’t didn’t have extreme symptoms (one didn’t have any at all) but that still doesn’t mean they can’t get it again and it won’t be worse the next time around.
I do know one adult that got covid twice and it was worse the second time (they had the first Covid shot and was waiting for their second) so really it such an unknown!

DS was vaccinated at age 17. DD is 14, and she has her first shot scheduled for next week.

Will you give your child the covid vaccine?
They will most likely be vaccinated, but I have time to think about it. They are all under 12.

Will you give your child the covid vaccine?
That’s a hard no. We will move out of NY before we even consider giving it to them.

Re: Will you give your child the covid vaccine?
Mine are older and the only reason they will have to get it is for college. They both don’t want it and if I had younger kids I would never even think about it. There is absolutely no reason and I don’t want to be responsible for some long term effect they might have in the future. I would feel horrible.

Will you give your child the covid vaccine?
He'll get it when he turns 12 in October. He has asthma so I don't want to know what could happen if he gets Covid without the vaccine.
And seriously - I NEED him to go to school next year. For my own sanity and he'll do way better academically. I know people are already sending their kids to school now, but with his asthma and me having to go through chemotherapy recently - I didn't want to take the chance.

Re: Will you give your child the covid vaccine?
Not now. My kids are still little and developing. Once it has proven itself, is FDA approved, long term side effects have been determined and any kinks have been worked out, then I would vaccinate them.

Mine is 15 and he will, only not right now. We want to wait until his baseball season is over, because of the possible immediate side effects.

Re: Will you give your child the covid vaccine?
Pending approval, yes. The lifting of restrictions reflects studies that are proving its efficacy again and again.

No but he is healthy and has a great immune system. He didn’t even catch it when we got sick with Covid.

Re: Will you give your child the covid vaccine?
Yes, my oldest will be getting his first dose soon. I’m more concerned about potential long term effects of COVID than I am of the vaccine. The reality is we have no idea how each particular person will be affected by the virus. If I can provide protection to not only my child, but also prevent him from possibly transmitting it to others who are more vulnerable or unable to be vaccinated, then I feel this is the right choice for my family.

Will you give your child the covid vaccine?
If my ped recommends it then yes. They have been very pro vaccine but they did express some hesitancy about vaccinating children when the risk from the virus is so mild for them. If I had a child over 12 I would lean much more toward vaccinating bc they are just as likely to pass it as an adult from what I last read.
