Just asked this question yesterday at a bbq. And the majority agreed ,including my own 81 year old mother, they got vaccinated to avoid restrictions and go on with life. No other reason
No way. Do you have proof? Maybe have them call Chill or have a meeting so she can document it all so she can see that YES many got the vaccine to stop wearing masks and get back to normal.

I have a feeling it will be required again across the board. Back in June I felt there was a chance they would be back maskless but now with the news around the Delta variant - I am sure Cuomo will mandate masks again.
It truly should be optional. So far today he said its recommended but there is no mandate.

Who is "they all" without your constant generalizations? THEY ALL wasn't me!!! Or anyone I know. So not sure who "THEY ALL" even is.
Also, I know you don't care Windy b/c it isn't NY, but my sister who is an RN in Louisville said today they announced mandating vaccines in the largest hospital network in that area for ALL employees. If not vaccinated by 9/15 they terminate their employment.

There is no option to test. They can request a religious or health accommodation to not vaccinate but those would be decided on a very case by case basis. I know you know nurses who won't vaccinate, of course you do... you always know someone.. LOL. But my sister is ecstatic and is tired of watching young/old/healthy/unhealthy/thin/heavy/obese/ALL WALKS people get very sick and potentially die. It has taken a toll on her and her colleagues. The background or health status should not be your focus here on the number of folks that are getting extremely ill or dying from this. Radical decisions are being made for sure. Hopefully they pay off and you can go about your merry way mask free and living life with blinders on. It's frustrating. Things may never go back to the way they were pre covid.

My DH and I got vaccinated to be able to live life more normally... We knew COVID wasn't going away and we still had a chance to get it (and didn't think we'd get that sick if we did get it).

You really need to start understanding that just because SOME say that's their reason that it's like that for everyone.
I never said EVERY.ONE. I feel like I live in a different world where I actually conversate and have discussions with people. LIF is a small fraction of NY but people are saying on here the same thing. How about attacking them too.
Don't think you said everyone either. However in real life and not here, if you asked a crowd of people why they truly got it, alot would say it was for less restrictions.

Who is "they all" without your constant generalizations? THEY ALL wasn't me!!! Or anyone I know. So not sure who "THEY ALL" even is.
Also, I know you don't care Windy b/c it isn't NY, but my sister who is an RN in Louisville said today they announced mandating vaccines in the largest hospital network in that area for ALL employees. If not vaccinated by 9/15 they terminate their employment.
They came out in NY and talked about the same thing. I have a feeling they are going to be losing a lot of good nurses and doctors. Hopefully they have an option to test as I know nurses who will not vaccinated.
There is no option to test. They can request a religious or health accommodation to not vaccinate but those would be decided on a very case by case basis. I know you know nurses who won't vaccinate, of course you do... you always know someone.. LOL. But my sister is ecstatic and is tired of watching young/old/healthy/unhealthy/thin/heavy/obese/ALL WALKS people get very sick and potentially die. It has taken a toll on her and her colleagues. The background or health status should not be your focus here on the number of folks that are getting extremely ill or dying from this. Radical decisions are being made for sure. Hopefully they pay off and you can go about your merry way mask free and living life with blinders on. It's frustrating. Things may never go back to the way they were pre covid.
No blinders. I actually spoke to the one nurse today and a traveling nurse. It is not easy on any of them. Some don’t want the vaccine even after seeing all of it. To each their own. They shouldn’t be forced either.
