jury duty vent
I am all for how the system works and how being a juror is important...I have done it 3 times in the last 7 years.
So, here in Charlotte, they have found me.
I have no family around, I babysit a little boy, have a DH who works around the clock...
I can postpone, but they need a date within the next 6 months...they said they will pay for childcare at their chosen facility. I don't see how this could be fair!
So, even if Leo gets the day off that I need to go in...I might not even get called in till the following day...and who knows how long it can go on from there.

How can you have been called that many times in 7 years? Is NC different than NY? In NY we can only be called like once every 6 years.

They would let me go if I had served in the last 2 years...which, it was longer then 2 years ago.
seriously, I LOVE jury duty in NY.
No commute, early day, casual clothes...

yeah, um, as soon as I moved down here, I got a summons and got "picked" to be on a 2nd degree murder trial that lasted for SEVEN weeks

oh my god! what would I freaking do!
Just talked to the woman I babysit for to see if she has any summer plans...I have to give them a date, she is free all summer so that is a good back up.
