Someone made a reference to KeithHernandez, who is a poster here. That is what started the whole joke (you said you didn't know who he was - she chose the name after a baseball player. Don't ask me for what team though!)

I am not able to read this entire thread after 2 REALLY long work days but want to add something:
My cousin is on the spectrum with Asbergers and allergy testing revealed a gluten allergy. Since radically altering his diet, he is off MUCH of the meds he had been on for so long & there is a GREAT improvement in his behavior (not perfect by any means, but SO much better!).

He probably had an allergy to gluten - some people do - spectrum or not - and behaviors will change as a result of eliminating from the diet. I'm glad it worked for him - unfortunately it doesn't happen all the time. Asperger's Syndrome is a relatively higher functioning area on the spectrum, so therapy I'm sure had a part -especially if he was able to better access therapy by improvement in diet!

I personally have no problem with someone bringing up the book, as long as they are willing to hear ALL sides....
ETA - Yeah, she's new, and like all newbies - she will get schooled on what to say or not to say to get the point across without people getting upset - wording, etc....

and ...the DRAMA....no one tried to cause drama...just tried to see what ur opinions are.....and my research ,,,is not over on..Jenny...i deff..will be ...and i am..looking at other..stuff...I wrote On HERE ...coz i wanted to see what u ladies know...to learn more as well..i have learned a lot...thru my mother...too...she has done a crazy research on it tooo

WOW....once again what could have been a good discussion seems to have fallen to the way side in favor of public humiliation and fun....
I think theres a time and a place for this and while Im not really thinking the original poster thought clearly about some things she said....Have patience people...Is there a group that dictates whats posted? What amount of English a poster should know etc? How many searches should be done.?
Wouldnt a better thing to do be to stay on the TOPIC at hand and discuss it vs arguing the same thing again and again with someone ?
When you dont agree with someone, explain why....
I'm once again just sad that these threads come to this, and will even more so when I realize hardly anyone cares...
I hate that Im always the only one who feels sad that we cant seem to disagree with each other ...LIKE ADULTS

When I was new I had no idea that I could search topics or how to quote and all that. It took me a while and some nice "older posters" to learn how to use all the features and figure out the site. I don't think there is anything wrong with someone bringing something up and posting something even if it's been posted before. So what ,this is a public forum and the same subject will come up over and over again many times. If you don't want to don't reply to it (no-one in particular just mean in general ) that's all.
Oh and I think I am going to go and have some

you can post whatever you want. we welcome the conversation... just be careful when what you post is met with some apprehension...and please don't get so defensive if someone disagrees with you... they disagree. most of the posters that disagreed backed up WHY. I apologize if my particular comment didn't...
I would be careful with the use of though... that can be misconstrued as condescending.

Here's the thing---this is a very hotly debated topic with mothers, and has been debated A LOT on these boards (and TBH, using the search feature wouldn't even help, b/c a lot of them have been pulled)
So, by posting something like this on a board for mothers, a lot of us who have done our research and have a lot of opinions on this subject, you are going to get A LOT of feedback!

It's amazing to me how grown people can get so judgmental and mean and make fun of others all just bc they don't agree with the "OP" or one of the posters or bc their English is not so good(or not their first language) or whatever the reason may be.

Yes, I am...I think that theres a lot of things that I find funny on these boards but talking about Autism is not one of them.....
I think when someone appears "slow" in any sort of way, be it posting uncomprehensible etc.... people JUMP on them ....
I dont mind it on other boards, I can ignore it etc, but here, I come here to talk about parenting, my son etc and to me its a serious thing and I feel like all the effort I put into discussing it becomes moot when this is how it ends.
Maybe I'm hormonal, but I do think its sad in this instance yes.
