12 hours sleep by 12 weeks? anyone do this/read it?

anyone read this book or follow it with success? it doesn't really matter to me specifically-DS is 16 weeks and has yet to STTN. i am not expecting him to STTN yet and i am going back to work so i am not going to sleep train him yet since things are going to change for him again.

but anyway, i read this book and found it to be hard to believe! i was just wondering if there is actually anyone out there whose had success with it? the reviews online sing its praises which surprises me!

I used this book and I loved it! DS was STTN by 12 weeks before I went back to work because of the tips in this book. I highly recommend it. I have recommended it to friends too and they have loved it as well.

my girlfriend did it for her 3 kids and it worked for all 3! I would have done it, but DD has been a great sleeper since the start.

At the time he was just BF. Now he is FF because at a little over 4 months I switched him because I couldn't keep up with the pumping at work.

I was considering buying it, but DS started STTN at 7wks all by himself, so I didn't spend the $. I'd love to hear the tips though!

I read the tips online without reading the book, but ds wakes up 4-5 times a night for his binky--does this address how to deal with the non-eating wakeups?

reading all of these responses is making me wish i had read it earlier! can it be utilized i wonder with an older infant..hmm..
anyway, as for the binky i wish i coud say there was something on it becoming a habit. the author actually encourages using the binky as a night tool to help soothe the baby without the anyone picking him up or feeding him. i wondered about that too since my DD was a crazy binky addict overnight and DS will look for it too sometimes. so i'm not sure in that situation Chat Icon but the premise of the book is that parents often create sleep issues for their babies by interfering too much with them learning to sleep on their own and how implementing a strict eating/sleeping routine is essential in getting the 12 hours-as well as minimal parental interference.

Yes - there is a section on doing it with babies older than 12 wks. And it does teach you how to coach the babies to self soothe.

I didn't read it, but my friend has used it with both her kids. She actually hired the author to come to her house when her first was born (she's local to the DC area), and swears by the methods. Kinda wish I had listened to her, since my DS still doesn't do 12 hours at night at 7 months, LOL.

old topic, but bumping, if anyone else has any more input.

I'm really interested! I can't find any recent posts on this.

I thought most babies STTN automatically around this time, is it even worth it to pick up this book?

Re: 12 hours sleep by 12 weeks? anyone do this/read it?

Can anyone provide any insight in how to get a baby back to sleeping thru the night? DD was and then stopped 2 weeks ago when I returned to work, I am at a loss at what to do.

Re: 12 hours sleep by 12 weeks? anyone do this/read it?

I feel for you!! DD did the same thing, she STTN from about 2 months - 5 months. Then I went back to work, she started crawling, teething, standing and got sick. She was waking up multiple times a night.

I said it would have been easier if she never STTN, instead of teasing me for a few months and then waking when I needed her to STTN. . .lol.

She is just now sleeping from 7:30 - 4:30 and this is 3.5 month later. So I am curious too!!!!
