anxiety meds and insomnia?
My dr prescribed me lexapro and I stopped taking it because it kept me up at night. Then he prescribed me zoloft and it once again kept me up at night. This doesn't seem to be a typical side effect. Did anyone else have issues like these?

I was going to say the same thing.
Try taking it in the morning.
I take fluoxetine (prozac) and don't find it has any effects on my sleep- however, my anxiety keeps me up at night (I have no problem falling asleep- it's staying asleep that's the problem)

Re: anxiety meds and insomnia?
Definitely had that problem!! Switch to taking it in the morning, that helped for me. Also it took about 2 wks to help the side effects decrease. Had crazy nightmares too...

Re: anxiety meds and insomnia?
I was told to take it at night. It actually does make me sleepy, but I am a light sleeper and always up at night before I even started taking it.
