how many preemie clothes did you buy before Babies arrived?

i bought a bunch of preemie and newborn.. mostly onesies, and the gowns..

i hate the feeling that i dont have enough.. but i guess we can always go out and get more if we need.

how long were your twins in preemie clothes?

My kids were
5lbs12oz and
4lbs 11oz

They came home from the hospital after 8 days and my was about 5lbs6oz and was 4lbs8oz (i think...but if not, close to that )

My son wore preemie clothes for about 3 weeks. Some stuff was smaller than others, but I would say by 3 weeks he was in newborn clothes. They seemed huge at first, but he grew into them quickly.

My daughter was in them over a month. Again, the smaller stuff she outgrew faster but most of it lasted about 5 weeks.

The first few weeks they lived in onesies, pj's etc. After that (and still) I love the carters 2 piece outfits (pants and shirt or pants and shorts) because they are nice and comfy cotton.

I did not buy any preemie clothing. Ironically my daughters needed some. Since they were in the NICU for 6 weeks I had time to go out and buy some.

I didn't buy any preemie clothes. I waited to see how big they were when they were born. They were 6-2 and 6-8. When they left the hospital, they were 5-10 and 6. I had DH and my mom go out and buy a couple of preemie pj's but that was it. By the time I took them out and about at 2 weeks, they were both fine with newborn clothes. They were a little big but they grow so fast. For me, it wasn't worth it to buy preemie stuff.

None. My mom bought a whole bunch of stuff after they were born.
They were 5lbs 1oz and 4lbs 11 oz and 18.5in when they were born.
They wore the preemie clothes for about 3 weeks but they got too short very quickly. They were tall and skinny babies.

I was worried that I would need them but was 6lb5oz and was 5lb6oz and they have been fine with newborn since we left the hospital 4 days later.

Deanna I have a bag of preemie/NB stuff and some preemie diapers in my trunk - I was going to give it away but she didn't need it. If you want it, it's yours! Let me know!

BTW to answer your question my bigger guy was in preemie stuff for about a week or two, and the other one close to a month.

It was so long ago that I really dont remember specifically...

But I remember not really needing them for very long at all. I did use newborn stuff for longer than with my other kids though. My girls were always true to size for the most part...

The one thing I do remember is that the preemie diapers were a big waste. They fit them fine but they didnt hold a darn thing....

Without knowing the size of Im going to say that I wouldnt buy too much and save it for newborn stuff...

ETA: They were born at 35 weeks and came home from the hospital at 4lbs 8oz and 4lbs 12oz..they were each 18 inches long...

My girls were 4lbs 2 ozs and 4 11 oz's ( I think ) when tehy came home. We had gotten some stuff from people who handed them down and had maybe 5-6 outfits. We ended up getting quite a few more. We only do laundry 1x a week and the way they were psitting up required at least one outfit change a day , and so we went out and bought a lot more.

Chloe was in Preemie stuff till about 2 and 1/2 months or so...She is 6 months now and can still fit in NB stuff. We used NB stuff for a LONG time though. Till maybe 4 months for both.

I bought nothing before they arrived. I never even thought to buy preemie clothes and then they were preemies in the NICU. As for preemie clothes they don't wear them for that long I just bought as I needed them.

My twins never wore preemie clothes, straight to 0-3 months clothing.
