Transitioning to milk ?s

My ds is 11 months old. His formula is on the recall list so the ready to feed is going to break the bank. Is it bad to start transitioning to milk a month early.

How did everyone do the transition?
I was going to give him the ready to feed for a few days bc he isnt used to it. Then I was goint to start adding 1oz of milk to every bottle

I went cold turkey at his first birthday and he was fine with it.

as per our ped, I started the transition at 10 months. it's no problem at all to start at 11 months. DS has been getting some whole milk for 3 weeks now and he has no problems. for the first 10 days he had 1 oz whole milk in each of his bottles. the next 10 days he had 2 oz and starting tomorrow he will get 3 oz. He will be completely on whole milk within the next 2-3 weeks.

I started at 10 months adding 1oz of milk to 7oz of formula and upped the milk 1oz each week. I went to straight milk when after adding 6oz of milk for a week.

A friend's ped told her 20 lbs or 1 year for milk. Her LO is 9 months and they're beginning the switch.

I switched DD over at 11 months at the ped's recommendation, she has been eating yogurt and cheese for month and had absolutely no negative reaction, so she said to go for it. It really was an easy switch. I did 4 days of 75% formula 25% milk .. then 4 days 50/50 .. then 4 days 25% formula and 75% milk. Worked perfectly, she just eased right in. good luck!
