if you ever had your wisdom teeth pulled...

how long were you on an antibiotic?

My dr. gave me a prescription. It had 7 days worth and i just finished it yesterday. I saw that there were refills on it and wasn't sure if I was supposed to refill it or if that was for "just in case" I know he's not in tomm so I wanted to see what others have had.

I was on for 7 days.

I work for a dentist. we never put refills on an antibiotic. Thats strange...

you shouldnt need anymore..are you swollen or in a lot of pain?

I'm not in any pain or swollen. And I just went for my check up yesterday and he didn't say anything. I was only wondering b/c I thought the refill thing was strange too.

Im not sure why there is a refill. Usually a week is enough

If you arent swollen or in any pain - you are fine. I am honestly wondering if that refill thing was a mistake on either the dentist office or the pharmacy, antibiotics never really have refills put on them.

i never went on an antibiotic after my wisdom teeth were pulled...

the dentist just monitored me and had me swish out my mouth with salted water 3x day...

that being said i am very anti- antibiotics unless absolutely necessary... i'm an RN and too many times do with have patients with infections that are resistant to most abt's because of over and unnecessary use!

I was never even given a Rx for an antiobiotic I had both my upper ones out in October. Just instructions on how to care for it.

7 days with no refills. thats odd that there is a refill, but I wouldnt take it longer than the 7 days.

I don't remember being on one at all. I'd call the doctor and ask about the refills; maybe they were put on the prescription by mistake.

Thanks everyone! I forgot to mention that I also had a scaling for my gums done too. But from what everyone is saying I guess the refills were a mistake. I didn't refill it.

7 Days and no refills- they kept calling my home every other day to make sure that I was doing good and that there was no swelling, etc.

I think that you getting a refill was either the pharmacy messing up or the dentist's office... most likely imo the pharmacy.

They never gave me antibiotics actually. They just gave me one as a precaution right before they pulled the tooth.
