New job search WWYD
I currently work FT in NYC for a major financial institution. I work 8-4 (I am out of the house at 6:30am in Penn at 7:30am and don't get home til 6:45). I have a 1 year old and am away rom my family 12 hours. I see her for 1 hour before she goes to bed. I want to get a job on LI closer to home. I have my degree from college and also my paralegal certificate. Here is my question- I am currently trying for child #2. I am staying at my current job because of that and because I get a great maternity leave. I was going to switch jobs after child #2, but that is taking a while and who knows when it will happen. Would you look to change or wait it out in your current position? Changing jobs will not stop me from trying for DC#2. Do you think that could hurt me if I did change jobs?

It can't hurt to look & see what jobs are out there. You might find something close to home with just as good of a maternity leave. I'd suggest staying at your job for now but start looking for something you'd be happier with. Keep your options open. If a great job offer comes, you can make your decision at that point.

I'd absolutely stay PUT!
I know more than one person who was mysteriously let go after starting a new job and announcing their pregnancy.

ITA. You won't be eligible for FMLA if you start a new job and have a baby shortly thereafter.
