Heart Murmur~ Newborn
So after I had my LO they heard a Murmur~ So she had an EKG in hospital and when we left it was gone~ she has had follow-up appointments and it has not come back, I know it is very common for newborns I am just curious if anyone else had a newborn and it did come back.. Thanks

we had the same exact scenerio play out
our Ped found the murmur on day 1. day 2, they did an eccho and EKG and found nothing  nothing since!!

our ped only noticed at 4m, we went to heart doctor, everything check out, by 8m we never saw it again

Our ped found it at 4 months..never heard before that. She went to a cardiologist and everything checked out fine. We have to go back in 6 months to follow up.

My sons was detected in the NICU when he was born. He had all the tests there and was told it was functional and I never needed to follow up and nothing to worry about. He is 6 now and I know for while they still heard it - at least over 18 mos (new PA got all crazy when she heard it and didn't realize I knew about it already). Since then - I am not sure I ever even brought it up since I was told not to worry about it.

This is exactly what happened with my DS. They did an EKG and he was fine, wasn't heard at all on Day 2. My ped said they overreacted by doing the EKG since it's fairly common for a slight murmur to be heard on Day 1.
