WWYD PCOS & NEW DR.

Sorry if this is long ..I'm behind livid right now.
Long story short I have been seeing my Endo for years now and was never really happy with her. She's OK ..but I really got fed up with the wait always when I had an appt.. we're talking like 2 hours sometimes. Anyways my last appt was my last straw..So I went to a new dr. last week at the reccomendation of a co-worker. So I see the dr. I'm not overly impressed, but I dont' hate him, but I'm just uneasy a little. We go over things, I have my old records with me. He has me to go the lab for blood work. I get a phone call yesterday from NOT HIM, but his receptionist!! Telling me my sugars were good and my cholestorol was a little high and to conitinue my medication and see him in 6 months. UMMMM Ok thats great, what about my hormone levels? What about a new prescription? I can't self prescribe last time I checked Chat Icon
So I immediately was completely turned off...called my old Dr. for an appt. Today I call to have my blood work faxed to me hoping that my dr. can just use the blood work and I don't need to pay another $40.00 copay for new blood, and low and behold this DR didn't even check any of my hormone levels!?? Are you kidding? Does this Dr. know what PCOS is???? I'm beyond livid..I feel like sending him my bill from quest when it comes and making him pay it since he wasted my time and money by not even checking the correct stuff!!
Any way ...my whole point of this rant is..what would you girls do ? What are my rights..what can I say or do ???

TIA

I totally get your frustration and i would be so annoyed too. Unfortunately, I don't really think there's anything you can do from a legal standpoint or for any kind of reinbursement for copays. If you're annoyed that he didn't check the right stuff, which is what you paid him for, then I would call and have him give you the correct information. Whether you're going to continue seeing him or not, he owes you at least that. then i'd go to another Dr. with the labs he did and get feedback and move forward with that other Dr.

I know there probably is anything I can do Chat Icon I was just completely seeing red yesterday ! I'm just really frustrated b/c itss $80.00 down the drain. I'm going to call him and ask for an explaination as to WHY he didn't check the right stuff, unfortunately the labs are useless now so where ever I go I'll have to get new blood done which will be another $40.00 and $40.00 for the dr. Like I have thatmoney to just throw around Chat Icon
Thanks for the response tho! Chat Icon
