WWYD? FET vs. IVF
I just found out that FET # 1 failed I was successful a little over three years ago with a fresh IVF cycle with DC. Spoke to Dr. Brenner yesterday and my two options are to either 1) use up the remaining frozen embryos (we have four more, would transfer two at a time) or 2) start over with a fresh cycle and do a fresh transfer with two. Obviously my odds of getting PG increase with a fresh cycle. We used the best quality embryos this time with my FET, and I was not successful. I'm having a hard time thinking that I WILL be successful with a FET if I'm using the frozen embryos that aren't as good as the ones that didn't work (Am I making sense? ). I could go straight to a fresh cycle and increase my chances, but not sure I want to go through that again if it's not necessary. I just can't deal with the disappointment of two more failed FETs if going to a fresh cycle will increase my chances of getting a BFP. WWYD? Was anyone successful with a 2nd or 3rd FET attempt?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Re: WWYD? FET vs. IVF
for me it would depend on who was paying. I had cycles where I did get a bfp from a fet, and cycles were I didnt. but both times I did fresh I did have a bfp.

Re: WWYD? FET vs. IVF
I was in your exact position. But I only had 2 frozen embies after my first FET. I was convinced to do 3 more fresh ivfs bc my remaining embies were "not that high of quality." We paid for 2 of those cycles oop. 2 years of heartbreak and a miscarriage later, I went back to those embies as a last attempt, and one of those little ones is my son! So, I would try the fet first, they do work, even if the give you a non glowing report on the "quality." GL!

Re: WWYD? FET vs. IVF
A frozen cycle is definitely less intense with the meds and monitoring... and I'm sure that your clinic would have frozen only those embryos which were good enough quality to even be frozen. I have heard of a lot of people getting pregnant from an FET. However a fresh cycle would give you better chances of success. I guess it just depends how patient you are?
I just had this conversation with my RE yesterday- I have one frozen embryo left after a failed IVF and FET, but I decided to save it and go back into a fresh cycle instead. I don't feel that a fresh cycle is that much worse and I am not patient with this process at all!

Re: WWYD? FET vs. IVF
My fresh cycle I transferred 2 perfect embies, neither took. I then did an FET with 2 and both took (I ended up with only my DS in that pregnancy). I did another FET 2 weeks ago with just one and that embie took, so I'm currently pregnant from that cycle. Those embies weren't the greatest quality from my batch, but that doesn't mean they aren't worth it! So for me, I would do the FET. When I was on these boards regularly 2 years ago there were many more BFPs from FETs than fresh.

I agree with the others. Your embies were good enough to be frozen and if they survive the thaw...they just might surprise you. I think i would do the FET's first as it's cheaper and less intrusive.

Re: WWYD? FET vs. IVF
Thanks so much for your advice everyone - I REALLY appreciate it!
I spoke to Dr. Brenner today. I have four frozen embryos left - He went over their "grades" (I didn't have a pen with me to write it all down) - but he said they are all good quality, "solid", embryos and that he would go for another FET - so I think that's what I'm going to do. Just hope I'm making the right decision!

Re: WWYD? FET vs. IVF
i dont have personal experience with FET, however there is a saying that crappy embryos make beautiful babies... i would exhaust the embies first before doing another fresh cycle. as much of this process is protocol and quality and timing, an equal or greater part of it is pure luck!!
tons of for whatever you decide!!

Re: WWYD? FET vs. IVF
I would go for the FET especially if the embies are good quality. With a fresh cycle you never know what could happen with fertilization and quality. At least you know you have some good ones ready to go with the FET.
