No weight gain @ 16 weeks?

I haven't even gained a pound. If anything, I weigh a few pounds less than when I got pregnant bc I just wasn't hungry in the beginning. I plan to talk to my dr when I see her. Anyone else deal with this? I'm a picky eater to begin with and am even pickier when I am pregnant.

I think it is OK. When I was PG with my DD 6 years ago I was 4 lbs less when I went in for delivery then when I concieved. I lost a lot of weight 1st trimester due to MS and then only gained back some of it in the last trimester.

This pregnancy I was only up about 4 lbs up until a few weeks ago. I am now 19.5 weeks and just started to gain a bit more...which freaks me oout bc I don't want to gain too much!

I know they say that not gaining in the beginning is OK and common for many women due to the food adversions and MS. Check with your Dr, but mosst likely it is quite alright!

At 16 weeks I hadn't gained anything either. Now at 18 weeks, I'm up about 2 pounds. I was very sick in the beginning too and lost about 6 pounds. That's slowly coming back on now.

I'm in the same position. I'll be 19 weeks on Wednesday and just started to get my appetite back last week. I'm only up one pound so far and my midwife told me to start eating anything, to throw the food pyramid out the window and break out the ice cream.

I gained a lot of weight with DS, like 80lbs and I'm still up 50lbs from him. I was losing it fast after he was born and then 2 months later my dad died and I just stopped trying, I was focused on my newborn DS, my grief and the roll as executrix of the estate, it was a nightmare. With this pregnancy, I am eating a lot better and have insane MS and food aversions. Even though I gained a pound my face is thinner and so are my legs so I think I am losing weight and gaining baby...if that makes sense lol.

I think its fine. I didn't really start gaining weight until 15 weeks and now at 20the weeks I am up about 4 lbs. I was really nervous about it too but if your doc is okay with it, I wouldn't stress it too much!

I am 17 weeks tomorrow and only up 2lbs. I havent had MS or anything. Just eating healthier than i was before conceiving.

I think its okay In my first trimester i lost over 10 lbs. Now at 24 weeks pregnant im only up 5 lbs. My dr wasnt concerned.

I went thru this with DS, mostly because of MS. It's fine, I think especially in the beginning. You still have time to gain.

I could have written your post myself. This is me for sure. I'm 17w today and in the same boat. I had bad MS the first tri and lost about 10 lbs. Since then I've been able to eat and keep it down, but the weight and baby bump hasn't come on. I'm starting to think people think I'm lying when I tell them that I'm this much preggo . However, I was just assured by my perinatologist on Thursday that this was totally fine. He said that my little guy is measuring at 5oz which is perfect for his age. He said that all women carry and gain weight so differntly and what it comes down to is the weight and size of the baby. As long as that is on target then it's OK and the weight and bump will come as it needs to. He told me to just eat what I can tolerate and as much as I can tolerate. Try to keep up with fluids and most importantly, take the prenatal vit every day. I have to be honest though and I say that I really can't wait for my bump. Some nights it looks like I have a little one going but it disappears during the day

With dd I didn't gain until 20 weeks, than I started gaining at each appointment, I only gained 22lbs total though. My dr was not concerned, so I think its fine.

Thanks everyone. I am going to show your responses to DH so he sees I am not the only person like this....maybe he'll get off my case! (although I know it is well intentioned)

I didn't gain any weight until week 20 when I had my son. I gained 7 lbs. in the 20th week (I think I gained that much b/c the night before my appt. I was at a wedding, chowing down b/c I couldn't drink!) Anyway, I am plus size to begin with and panicked for quite a while that I was going to gain a drastic amt of weight. I think I gained a total of 23 lbs. I wasn't hungry in the beginning either, so I think I was losing while the baby was gaining and it all evened out in the end. I had a very normal, uneventful pregnancy.

You will def gain soon enough.
As long as baby is developing how it should, just make sure ur getting your vitamins.

with DS I lost almost 10lbs in the first 20weeks. In TOTAL I only gained 25 lbs the entire pregnancy. (gained back what i lost and 15 more). My doc had nothing to say about it. After giving birth I lost all the baby weight 1-2-3 and another 10 lbs.

with #4 I didn't gain any weight until 21 weeks and I only gaiined 15 lbs the whole pregnancy ,so after I had her I was 5 lbs less than before I got pregnant

same here... 16 weeks and I'm still down 3.5lbs from MS.
