Best bottles for newborns?
Hi ladies, I'm a first time mom having twins and I have no idea what kind of bottles to get. Any suggestions? Also, how many does each baby really need? TIA

Re: Best bottles for newborns?
We used the Born Free bottles with DD, and plan to use them this time again. We probably had 8 or so bottles with DD- but it was probably overkill.

Re: Best bottles for newborns?
I was told to register for a few different ones since some babies prefer certain bottles. You don't want to have a bunch of one kind then have to go out and buy all new ones if that happens.

Re: Best bottles for newborns?
We started with Breastflow then did Playtex Drop-Ins and Ventaires for a little while, then ended up with the Dr. Brown's finally. (She's still using the Dr. Brown's now at 15 m... I really need to finish weaning her...)
This time I just plan to do the Dr. Brown's if he'll take them. I don't want to start buying all new bottles again. It was a bit of a pain last time.
I liked the little click-on nipples with the RTF formula we got some of at the very beginning. Super convenient! I also found some washable nipples/rings that fit those RTFs that we used when we traveled.

Re: Best bottles for newborns?
I started with Born Free then switched to the Playtex Drop ins. Now that his gas is better, I use the Born Free once a day for his prune juice. Otherwise the drop ins worked great for DS' gas! I have 4 Playtex bottles and 4 Born Free. I think 4 is a good amount to work with.

I used ThinkBaby and Born Free. Liked them both, but after 6 weeks or so DD had issues sucking from the ThinkBaby so now we are strictly Born Free.

Re: Best bottles for newborns?
I own a daycare and I've seen lots of bottles. Each baby is different and takes to different bottles so my suggestion is maybe buy 2 different brands and see which baby likes.
Personally I like - Playtex drop ins, Born free, playtex ventaire, NUK bottles, tommee tippee
The only bottle I'm not a fan of because of leaking is Avent. A lot of people have issues with leaking and even the slow flow nipples are too fast for some babies. I also don't love dr. browns because of all the pieces really a pain to clean. JMO though.

Re: Best bottles for newborns?
With DD I started with Avent and hated that they leaked. I then used Born Free until I had to the buy the 8oz bottles and wanted to see if another bottle might make a difference with what her doctor said was reflux..I was not convinced. I then bought Dr. Browns wide neck bottles (similar to Born Free) and we had great success with them and she used them until she recently came off bottles.
For this baby I am going straight to Dr. Browns and bought the small bottles. I have a dishwasher case that Dr. Browns makes that makes throwing them in the dishwasher and cleaning very easy. I also keep 8 bottles so I am able to have enough for the day and ones in the dishwasher.
