Wisdom tooth removal
If you remove one tooth, does that cause the rest of the teeth to move?

Wisdom tooth removal
My teeth shifted slightly but I think I am the only one who really noticed.

I heard of that and had to sign different waivers when I got mine out but I was totally fine. I got three out, two were impacted. I heard your teeth can shift if they are impacted (growing sideways) and you DON'T take them out, because they could push at your other teeth.

Re: Wisdom tooth removal
My DH is supposed to have one taken out. Do they knock you out for one or just numb the area?

Re: Wisdom tooth removal
I had all 4 removed, 3 impacted so they had to cut my gums to remove them. I wasn't knocked out, just gas and novocain. I looked like a chipmunk for a few days with my puffy cheeks. Also, don't take too much Vicodin or whatever they prescribe. I did and ended up throwing up, and that is not fun with stitches in your mouth
eta: No, my teeth did not shift

Some of the teeth sit extremely close to a main mandibular nerve. Yes this is possible. Maxillary teeth tend to be easier since the bone is softer.

Re: Wisdom tooth removal
I had 2 removed on the bottom and one on top. My teeth definitely shifted. I have more space between my teeth than I ever did before. Only I would notice, but I hate it.
