How did you weaning off formula to milk...
So how did you do it? I put less than on ounce of organic whole milk in my sons 8oz bottle and he won't drink it...

With dd #1 I just did it cold turkey. With dd#2 she has been on similac soy so I dont think I will have the same results. We are going for her annual today so I will ask the dr what he thinks is best.

How did you weaning off formula to milk...
I tried giving him straight milk and he refuses it. Should I just keep only offering him the milk maybe and eventually he will take it? I hate to think he would be going hungry though...

I started with an ounce of milk and the rest formula. I did that for 3 days and then added another ounce of milk. I would add another ounce every 3 days. I also transitioned her off bottles at the same time. She fought it a little bit, but by her first birthday she was completely off formula and bottles and she seriously loves milk.

If DS noticed a difference, I couldn’t tell. We mixed 1/2 formula, 1/2 whole milk for about a week and went straight to milk after that. He never flinched.

DD was very resistant, she wasn't off formula until 15 months. We would try and ounce in one of her bottles and once she started tolerating that we would go to 2 ounces, etc...it was a very slow process but now she LOVES milk

Like the others have said, we started slow - 2 oz. milk to 6 oz. formula. After a few days we upped it to 3/5, then 4/4, etc. We tried doing it cold turkey but DD gagged on the milk, so we did it gradually.
Keep trying!

I did it cold turkey. Finished off the last can of formula and went right to whole milk. DD was fine with the switch.

We went to th dr earlier. He said to just do it cold turkey. So I will let ya know how this goes.

This is what I did with DS. Off the bottles and onto straw cups and wean off ounce by ounce at the same time.

I did the 1st bottle as 1 oz milk, 7 oz formula then each bottle thereafter, I added one more oz of milk and decreased the formula by an oz. I think I got to 5 oz. of milk and 3 oz of formula when I ran out of formula so that was the end of that. He did fine.

I used to work in daycare and I found if you warm the milk they might take it. Sometimes if its too cold they will refuse. Hope this helps!
