Induction at SB question
I am scheduled for induction (cervidil placement/pitocin next am) on Tuesday. Do they let you walk the halls or bounce on a ball to help things along? My cousin said that she was allowed to while being induced at another hospital. Thanks in advance!!

Re: Induction at SB question
I only had pitocin but I was able to walk around until I got the epi. I had to get up to use the bathroom like every 5 minutes so I was up and about a lot haha.

Re: Induction at SB question
Once they started the pitocin I couldn't get up because I needed to be constantly on the monitor.

Induction at SB question
I was induced on 3/3 at SB and had my baby girl on 3/6. I was given Cervadil at night on 3/3 and had to stay laying down for the first 2 hours. Once the 2 hours was up, I was allowed to walk around, use the bathroom, etc. but not for an excessive amount of time b/c I had to be on the monitors. On 3/4, I was given Pitocin and was able to get up, use the bathroom, walk around the room, but not for more than 10-15 mins at a time. I got a 2nd round of Cervadil that night and again, just had to lay down for the first 2 hours. Went back on Pitocin the next day and was given a Foley balloon (aka torture device - just a warning) and again was able to move around, use the bathroom. Was offered a yoga ball but never got it.
Basically the only time when I wasn't allowed to get up and walk around was once I got the epi for obvious reasons.
