Laid back brunch?

DH and I want to take his aunt out Sunday for her birthday.

DS will be with us so we prefer laid back and no crazy wait.

She's in Seaford so in that vicinity is fine.

TIA!

Re: Laid back brunch?

I was also going to say Morning Rose Café (on Bedford Ave in Bellmore Village). Very laid back, cute, cozy place with a kid-friendly menu (chocolate chip pancakes and stuff like that), as well as some inventive, more sophisticated items.

HOWEVER - There is always a long wait there, because the place is tiny, and they don't take reservations. Not sure if the wait is as bad now that it's August (maybe lots of people are away), and you may have more luck if you go on the early side.

Hemingway's in Wantagh may be a good option. It's a good standard brunch, and a bigger place, so the wait isn't likely to be an issue. They usually have a buffet, but in the summer, I think you just order off the menu (and I think they start serving a little later in the summer, like 12 noon, but you can call to check).

Menu looks great!

How is the wait time though?

Ha, you answered my question, looks like we posted at the same time.

I've yet to try Brownstones by me on a weekend because of the wait, so I'd imagine this kind of place would be the same....

Re: Laid back brunch?

Update:

We decided to go for breakfast this am instead of brunch and it was delish!

We got there around 8:30 and were second table to be seated. The place was packed when we left, but no wait yet.

It's pricey but for a special event worthwhile IMO.
