Filing for disability???
I work part time in three offices and no paid maternity leave.
I have heard girls filing for disability during those weeks off. How do I go about doing this? Is there an application and would I have to have each office fill one out?

your HR department doesn't have the form? I think it depends what company they have the disability insurance through. I believe my company uses UNUM (sp)

You have to see if any of the offices you work for offer disability.
If they do there is portion that you fill out, a portion your OB needs to fill out after delivery or if they put you on bed rest earlier, and a portion for your employer to fill our and then they need to fax the papers to the disability company.

I work for dental offices so no HR dept lol
I thought disability was a general thing we can tap into, aside from short term disability. I thought we were all entitled to general disability? I guess I'll ask my bosses. I know it's taken out of my check for all payroll companies.

You can get money through the state. It's very minimal as a full time employee so not sure how much it would be for PT but google it. Or go on the nys website.
