Did you put baby clothing on your shower registry?

I can't remember if registries of friends have had specific clothes on it that they scanned in the store? I figured clothing is something that guests will just buy, no? If anything, I'd register for some onesies that come in 3/4 packs rather than actual outfits. Thoughts?

I'm putting basics. Sleep sacks, onesies, footed pjs. But my friends said put 1-2 in each age group and thats it because you will get plenty and people will buy you that instead of other essentials you need.

I'm not putting any other clothes. A lot of people send clothes after the baby is born too.

For onesies I am really only putting 4-packs of basic whites in each age group and calling it a day unless I come across something I love and really want.

there are so many pages to print dont want the good stuff you really need to get mixed in pages of clothes that people prob wont end up finding in the store.

Aside from basics like white onesies and sleep sacs, I wouldn't put it on.
I have tried to find clothes on other people's registries and it's impossible- the descriptions aren't good enough and by the time the shower comes, they may be sold out anyway.

Other than basic onesies, don't do it. It kicks open the door for people to buy you clothes instead of gear that you need. Also, I don't recommend registering for bibs, burp cloths or blankets either. For some reason, people looooove to buy those things. I had 47 bibs and 22 blankets from my shower. Not kidding. And I didn't register for any of them. And I was Chat Icon it was crazy.

We put on sleep sacks, side snap t shirts (highly recommend these...so easy to change her diaper in the middle of the night because she only had a shirt on...but she also was an August baby).

We received sooooo much clothes...for the shower and then also when people would come to meet her they brought clothes. This kid has more in her wardrobe than I do right now...she just got a whole bunch more clothes for Christmas.

You will not get them in all the clothes you receive. Keep the tags on and I would also suggest stapling the receipt to the tags for now.

You will also get gift cards...we used some of those to get more of what we liked (side snap t shirts and Velcro swaddles).

I agree with the PP about the bibs and blankets...we have probably 10 blankets...bibs we only got a couple of but used gift cards to get more. We only recently started using them while we're starting out with oatmeal cereal.

Re: Did you put baby clothing on your shower registry?

Just a few sleep sacks.

No real clothing, no.

And when I had my shower I got tons of clothes - plus clothes prior to the shower, clothes after the shower, clothes when the baby was born - CLOTHES CLOTHES CLOTHES Chat Icon He had such a wardrobe!

So, yeah, no worries about that.

I did register for specific burp cloths because I wanted those exact ones. I actually didn't receive any additional of those - just the ones I registered for, which was perfect.

Only onesies and sleep sacks/take home outfits.
I know I will be getting clothes regardless of what I put on there though.

No!! Don't even bother. You'll get so many clothes any way, regardless. I did at my shower; Too many that dd never even wore. People tend to get a little nuts over buying baby clothes.

we put onesies, sleep sacks, gowns and a few outfits (so people knew our style)

we didnt get many of any of it off the registry. We got a lot of 0-3mo clothes from off the registry and not enough 9 month.

clothes are tougher to find, and people will pick their own style out...

easier to just register sleepers or generic white onesie packs.

Do not put clothes! I did not register for any, but still got SO many (and I had a boy!). I wound up returning a bunch since we had so many in 3 months and then most people who did buy bigger bought for the wrong season...

Re: Did you put baby clothing on your shower registry?

No... it would be a waste because you get TONS of clothes as gifts from random people... people at work, neighbors, etc. who haven't even looked at your registry. For your shower/registry, put all the bigger items you will need so you hopefully won't have to end up buying those yourself.

Like others have said, I did basics like pjs, side snap t-shirts, onesies, swaddle mes. Things like that. No outfits. You will get plenty of those anyway.

Re: Did you put baby clothing on your shower registry?

I didn't put any clothing on my registry and I got TONS of clothes in sizes newborn to 12months +. My sister did a station where people could iron on different fabric shapes onto white onesies so I didn't have to register for those either.
