What does your insurance cover?
Just trying to get an idea of what's average for an insurance company to cover, with respect to infertility. Can you explain what your insurance company covers (diagnosis only, IUI only, IUI and IVF) and what type of employer you have (private, city govt, federal govt).
My insurance only covers the diagnosis of infertility. So my ultrasounds with my RE are covered. Everything else (HCG shots, IUI, IVF, Clomid, Injectables, etc.) are 100% out of pocket. It stinks especially when I look at the cost of IVF. My plan is a federal government plan as well.

What does your insurance cover?
Absolutely nothing that is considered infertility. They will apply things like some of the testing and blood work before I am considered 'Infertile' to my co insurance but they cover $0! I have UMR-United Healthcare and worked on wall street.

Nothing- not even office visits. Everything has been paid OOP. My insurance is through dh's employer which is a nationwide, well known company.

Unlimited IUI's and 75% of 3 IVF's and 3 Frozen cycles
Medicine for pills a copay. Injectables are covered for 3 fills of each medicine with a copay and a few hundred dollar deductible. We have been lucky with insurance but still no baby to show for it and even with insurance we have still paid thousands of dollars in copays with everything...I don't even want to add it up

What does your insurance cover?
I feel very fortunate with my insurance's infertility coverage. IUI's are 100% covered and are unlimited. I have a $50,000 lifetime maximum for IVF, that includes the procedure (retrieval/transfer), anything else necessary (i.e. I had ICSI done on all retrieved eggs) and storage of embryos. I didn't have to pay co-payments for sonos/monitoring until I became pregnant. Medicines are co-payment only, that includes pills, injectables, and necessary medical supplies to administer the meds. I'm a teacher in a public school district here on LI. I think its horrible that so many insurance companies don't consider fertility related treatments "necessary". Given my generous insurance plan, I tried to "pay it forward" and donated all my unused meds from my IVF cycle to women without coverage who were paying OOP. I felt it was the least I could do to help.

What does your insurance cover?
I bought Health Republic of NY through the healthcare website. They cover unlimited IUI's, all medicine (only pay copay) and the procedures and tests that go with infertility testing.

Thats amazing coverage. I am fully covered for unlimited IUI's, monitoring , blood work and diagnostics. But I only have 10,000 life time for IVF. My meds need to be ordered and sent to me through a company called ICore in florida for some reason, I have no idea why but they have been pretty good so far and get me things pretty quickly.

My insurance covers diagnostics and testing and unlimited IUI's
however, I will most def need IVF and that covers nothing. Currently waiting for all the blood work to come back...

My husbands ins was great for everything no copays or anything ever but only covered testing. When I switched to my company's, since the ins is out of Illinois which has an infertility mandate it is awesome. Once my 2500 yearly deductible is met everything is covered at 100%.
That includes all meds , unlimited Iuis, unlimited transfers. The only thing there is a cap on is retrievals. I am allowed 4 retrievals over a lifetime , eth a max amount of 6. but after a first birth, am allowed two more . So if I got pregnant on my first shot I would have two more , but if I get pregnant for the first time on my 4th time I would have two more .

What does your insurance cover?
DH's plan is United Healthcare. It has 15K infertility coverage which covers everything - once you have laid out the 3K deductible. The good thing about the insurance is that we get the negotiated rate for everything.
My plan - Empire BC - covers everything except IVF. This sounds amazing, but we need to do IVF to get pregnant.

What does your insurance cover?
I teach in NYC. Unlimited IUIs. I had 6 and never got preg. It also covers 3 IVFs and 3 FETs at a discounted rate. I have still spent 1000's of dollars but I am lucky to have the insurance I do. My 3 IVFs went quicky and finally worked on IVF 3. I used my 1 FET. I have 2 more FET left but only 1 embryo so if I ever decide to go through this all again for a sibling then it would be OOP for a fresh IVF. IF sucks and it sucks that insurance companies don't cover it. Even if you do have insurance sometimes it takes time to get things right. If we didn't have insurance I'm not sure if we would have kept on going. GL
