Potty Training Turn around time...
i started potty training my daughter 2 weeks ago today. the first few days were pretty bad but by the 3rd day she had peeing down....then we had so many birthday parties in the family to go to back to back that i would put her in a pull up and she regressed horribly. she still won't poop in her potty and even though she tells me sometimes when she has to pee, today she totally forgot and peed all over herself. i know she's bound to have accidents, but, how much longer can i expect this to go on for until she gets it for real? She's 27 months

Re: Potty Training Turn around time...
My DD didn't poop on the potty until after 4 years old. It took her almost a year and a half from getting pee down- with no accidents- not even at night.
Pooping is a WHOLE other ball game.

Potty Training Turn around time...
Yeah, this is a long process. My sister wasn't fully potty trained (I potty trained her) until about 3, probably more like 3 &1/2.

Potty Training Turn around time...
I think it varies a lot depending on the kid and the circumstances. Dd wasn't willing to train until she turned 3 and then we had zero pee accidents and one poop accident. She had one other friend who trained very quickly. All her other friends have been in various stages of training for the past year.

Re: Potty Training Turn around time...
I trained super early, so night was diaper time. Kids just didn't ever wake up dry (which my ped said could take up to 6 yrs old).
We kept all pull-ups & diapers off during the day no matter what. We did weddings, christenings, thanksgiving, etc. with a few changes of clothes. This avoided regression.
DD took 2 days to fully train. We did it at 22 months. She really has had 2 accidents. She self trained at night. Not sure how old (around 3).
DS took 3 days for pee, 2 months for poop. Poop in underwear was no fun, but we survived it. Trained him at 26 months. I personally think it was too late (fear of poop on potty set in).
My sister potty trained her DD at 18 months! Took longer (2 weeks to be accident free), but it worked.

Potty Training Turn around time...
I trained at just over 2 and it took 2 days and was completely accident free in 1week. We threw out all diapers and pull ups. Imo they create confusion.
By putting back in pull-ups for schedule ease it created to much confusion and caused the issues. I would do the 3 day method and start from scratch

Re: Potty Training Turn around time...
The irritating but truthful answer is each kid is different. My DD got it in three days and no turning back. But my DS (twins) trained a few months later and it took several weeks before we were consistently accident free. I found that when the pee accidents cropped up, some of it was due to the fact that we assumed he would be like his sister and just take to it and after that first week or two it would be smooth sailing. So we re-focused, went back to some reward stickers, and in a week saw a difference.
I think its great that you caught that she is sliding back and can go back to the basics that you did in the beginning to get her going again.
Good Luck!

Potty Training Turn around time...
We waited until DS turned 3 and he was trained in 3 days. Both poop and pee. He is very proud of himself and goes to the bathroom all by himself and closes the door like a big boy. We tried DD at the same time but she just turned 2. She was not ready so we just gave up. Good Luck

Re: Potty Training Turn around time...
i did the 3 day method with my 2yo and she had it in 3 days. she doesnt know to get up from naps or bedtimes though so we use pullups for those times of the day. i found she regressed too when i put her in a pull up for a party shortly after she was trained.
