Low Progesterone and bleeding
Does anyone have any experience with this? I am about 7 weeks and have been spotting light pink since last saturday. Since thursday it has turned to a red watery blood, enough so that I need pads. My doctor tested my progesterone on Wed and determined it was low. I started the supplements yesterday. My HCG levels were up as of yesterday. Is low progesterone and bleeding connected? I am very achey and my gut is telling me I am going to miscarry. I should add we heard the heartbeat on Thursday (the day the progesterone was low and the bleeding had increased).

Yes the bleeding could be directly related to the low prog. Or it could be from something else... It's actually very hard to tell. Seeing a HB is a very good sign though. Are you getting retested.

Yes, I'm getting another soon and more blood on wednesday to further test the progesterone and the hcg levels. I never bled with my other two DS so the sight of blood is making me extremely nervous. I miscarried before my first DS and there were no signs at all. Now I have bleeding but a heartbeat (120) and levels of HCG going up. Im feeling pretty lost. I don't want to give up all hope but Im having a hard time remaining positive.

Just try to hang in there. Are you on progesterone supps or injections? Supps won't show up in your b/w anyway. But supps could also cause bleeding.

I had a loss early this year at 8weeks. My level were fine, I was on supplements from the start but the babies HB was only 81 at almost 7 weeks so clearly now looking back there was something wrong from the get-go. Stay positive because that's a nice HB rate and give the supplements time to work, I'm guessing they should start rather quickly but see if you can find more information online. I'll be thinking of you so keep us all updated.

Yes, likely connected. My progesterone dropped and the supps bumped it right up. Maybe you need a higher dose if you're still bleeding? I was told that if I kept bleeding they'd increase me to 2x daily and see what happens.
Or maybe it's something else entirely? A hematoma? That's a great hb so I wouldn't be overly worried about the baby.

I had low progesterone and bleeding from it early in my last pregnancy. As soon as I took the progesterone the bleeding stopped and that baby is now almost a year old! Good luck!

Thank you all for your advice and good wishes. Unfortunately I went to doctor and was told there was no heartbeat. I go back tomorrow to see how my body is handling the miscarriage. Thanks again. I hope to be back here soon. Good luck to all of you.
