More potty training questions!
Everyone's potty training advice was so helpful a few days ago. Now I have more!
This afternoon because of the lousy weather, we were stuck in. I took it as an opportunity to do a test run with underwear and stayed dry almost all afternoon and in that time peed on his potty 3 times. He had one accident which was while he was eating dinner, but the times he went on the potty he told me he had to go. I'm going to assume this is a sign he is really ready!
Here are my questions:
1- we have a plan to go out tomorrow morning to a friends house and I have some errands that must be done. What do I do at this point? I don't have any pull ups in the house and I'm afraid of doing underwear and having accidents while out. Did I plan this trial run stupidly because I'm not prepared? Should I clear my calendar all next week and start over with the plan to ONLY stay home?
2- trick or treating. He will be out for a couple hours with a bunch of our friends. If the plan is to resume potty training, what should we do on Halloween while he is out and focused on other things?

Where do they use it? I saw a child using one in the mall once. Can they use it in a car?

When you make the call to potty train, IMO, you go all the way.
Mine did pee themselves when out for about a week. Keep a change of clothes.

I agree. For trips i never used pullups/diapers. I just prayed for no accidents lol. I have a potty in car too. Just in case. Dont go back!

How do you use the potty in the car when it's cold? I was thinking of having him sit in the trunk (we have a small suv) but when it's very cold out obviously that won't be an option.

More potty training questions!
I never brought a potty with me and I never used one. We started with the toilet at home. I would take the chance and if he peed well i always had change of clothes and would wash car seat when i got home. I have also put a pull up on in the beginning.

Re: More potty training questions!
I have twins that will be 3 in Nov and potty training this year was definitely challenging. Both of them responded differently but I did give them pull ups the first few times we had to go out to a function or knew we would be out doing errands for a long period of time. I would take them to the potty before we left and made sure we made one stop during the time we were out to the potty again. Never carried a potty with me...didn't know you could do that! I had one DD take advantage of wearing pullups and never went to the potty if outside of the home...so that didn't work for her. But my other DD never went in the pullup, she always told me when she had to go.
eventually I stopped giving both of them pullups and we never had an accident while out. we did have a few accidents at home because they wouldn't want to stop watching tv or playing.

More potty training questions!
I did pull ups for long runs out in the very beginning. I had the potty in the truck for her. And I bought disposable liners for public bathrooms. I was very blessed she was great from the start, never got confused about pull ups. We dont use them anymore unless its a road trip for longer than 40-60 min in the car.
ETA: I brought extra outfit, panties, pull ups, socks (sometimes it gets that far down LOL) Also brought wipes and a small towel for clean up in case of an accident.
good luck!
