Desperate for some swaddling advice
Hi ladies! I haven't posted in a while but I need some advice. We moved DS to his crib from the Rock and play about a month and a half ago. At the beginning it was rough but we kept him swaddled to make the transition easier. Now he's used to the crib but the swaddling needs to stop because he breaks out every single night and wakes himself up. We've tried the Merlin suit and it does nothing for him, we've tried cold turkey and he'll only sleep for about 40 minutes at a time, we've tried one arm swaddle and that wasn't any better. I'm a zombie now living on 4 hours of sleep a night a night and I don't know what else to try. Also, the only way he'll go back to sleep is with a bottle now. Before this he slept for 8-10 hours straight a night so I know he doesn't really need the bottle, it's just for comfort. Any suggestions?

What are you using to swaddle him? We had no luck with the swaddleme when my girls were newborns but I tried one again when dd2 was older and it was a lifesaver.

We've been using the miracle blanket. When he was younger it was a godsend and he couldn't get out of it for anything. Now he's like the hulk breaking out lol. I just don't know if it's worth it to find something better, maybe like some kind of sleep sack or work on not swaddling him. He can also roll over now so should I try stomach sleeping?

I use the halo swaddles. DD loved being swaddled but then she started rolling. Now I have to swaddle her arms out, which she doesn't like as much. She still doesn't sleep as well as she did fully swaddled but I can't risk her rolling onto her belly and then not being able to get herself back over because her arms are swaddled. Though she NEVER slept 8-10 hours!
I'd keep at it with the arms out. He'll get used to it eventually, though I now how much it stinks for you.

Thinking outside the box a little, maybe something else is also bothering him, could he be teething? My DS barely slept while teething.

I used a halo wearable blanket. Kind of like overalls but the legs are contained in a blanket. Also I use a white noise machine which I've found so helpful.
