Maternity 21 and co-insurance
Anyone have the Maternity 21 test done and have an insurance with a 20% co-insurance? If so can you please share your cost?
I am 36, so I know I will get the pre-authorization but with my insurance I have a 20% co-insurance and I cant seem to get anyone to tell me what my out of pocket will be
I have UHC if that matters, thanks!!!

Most likely your insurance will deny the claim. If you met the criteria (age, history, etc) you should get a bill from the company who did the test for about $150.

Not nec true. I had UHC and it was covered at 100% b/c it was an in-network test and I was over 35 when I delivered. Not sure about your co-insurance question. I didn't have Maternity21, but a different test, so I can't help there.

Maternity 21 and co-insurance
I called maternit21 the other day. Gave them my insurance info (cigna) and they are now in network and the cost estimate was $800 (I didn't meet my deductible yet, so I would pay the whole cost). Call them and find out. They even knew what was left on my deductible, so if they contract with UHC, they can probably give you a good estimate of your out of pocket expense. When they were out of network, they knocked it down to $200 for me, but they told me to expect to pay $800 this time since it's in network.

Re: Maternity 21 and co-insurance
I did call UHC and they couldnt tell me my 20% without receiving the bill
I just dont really think the test is absolutely necessary just bc of my age and I dont want to get stuck with a several hundred dollar bill when I can do the regular NT scan for about 60 bucks

Call maternit21 at 877-821-7266. They are open now (til 4pm pacific time). My insurance company wouldn't give me the cost either, even with CPT code. They needed to know a lab name, which I didn't know.

This was me as well. I have UHC but I have not met my deductible. The bill was about $800 but once I pay it, it will come off of my annual deductible.

Re: Maternity 21 and co-insurance
I called them today, the copay on the test would be $$765 bc they are in network and insurance would cover it given my "advance maternal age"
if it wasnt covered by my insurance then I would qualify for their reduced fee of $200
Health insurance is the biggest scam going

Whaaaat? That can't be 20% - that would make the in network cost $3825.
