Please answer -need to know if you feel this - worried about incompetent cervix
I am worried about incompetent cervix. I am 20 weeks and if I stand too long or sit too long, I feel discomfort (or sometimes pain) in my uterus right above my pubic bone (in my old csec incision). I feel a lot of pressure in that area (above my pubic bone). Occasionally then I feel sharp pains in my vagina when this happens. If I sit down reclining or lay down, it feels better.
Does anyone else feel this? I called the doctor 2 times last week b.c I felt discomfort down there but after speaking ith the nurse they said it was stretching…they didnt feel I needed to come in. But starting to think about insisting to come in again. However, really want to know if anyone else feels these things.

Re: Please answer -need to know if you feel this - worried about incompetent cervix
I have experienced pain in my c section scar area and pelvis.
And due to a past cervical issue, I was checked regularly for incompetent cervix, but I was always fine. Do you have any reason to think you would have cervical incompetence? If so or if you're just really worried, as for a sonogram to check.

This for peace of mind but it sounds like lightning crotch which is totally normal.

I've had something similar to what you are describing since like 16 weeks or so I had my cervix checked at 19 weeks and it wasn't at all shortened but I would make them check it for peace of mind

Thanks ladies, did not check this until now. I do have a reason to be concerned about the cervix. They did check me and it was good, all was thank fully good. They think it's the csection incision scar tissue that may be causing the pain.

My doctor would say, just because it was ok this time, don't assume that next time if you start to feel anything different and get concerned. I would always go in to check if you're worried.
Nobody here or no nurse on the phone could diagnose you 100%... My vote will always be to go get it checked out (especially since you say you have reason to be concerned about a IC). That's what they're there for.
My pregnancies are high risk, so I get it. I'm always hyper aware of these things as well.

Thank you. I am glad I was persistent. How anyone can say for sure without seeing me boggles my mind. I have enough issues to warrant wanting to seeing me with the complaints I have been having for a week now. But very glad to say after internal and ultrasound, all was ok, so the discomfort is not related to cervix .
