IUD?
Slightly off topic but just wondering if any ladies here have an IUD and if you would recommend one. We are possibly done having babies and if we have a 3rd it wont be for at least 3 more years. I'm debating between Mirena and Paraguard. My OBGYN recommends Mirena but I'm not sold on the hormones. I'm leaning towards Paraguard.
Thanks in advance mommas!

IUD?
I have the mirena and I think I’m going to take it out and go back on the pill. I actually just posted about it in health. My periods have been a nightmare and I am so incredibly bloated and uncomfortable from ovulation to my period. Not just puffy, but like agonizing pain.
I’ve never heard of anyone else having this problem though. I have friends who have it and love it.

IUD?
I have the paraguard and I love it. My periods have gotten slightly longer with it but they're still very light. I have no complaints and love that it's hormone free.

Re: IUD?
I've had Mirena for about 6 months now. The first month was an annoying month of constant spotting because my body was adjusting but after that I no longer get my period. I love it! I love not having to think about birth control and haven't felt any differences with the hormones.

Re: IUD?
I had Mirena for almost 2 years. I loved it. The first 6 months were rough, but after that, it was amazing. I took it out in July because I thought I might like to try for one more...I am not trying again for a few more months, so I'm on bcps and I hate them. I loved no period!

IUD?
I have a rough time with bc. Two of my girlfriends love their iuds. My body hated the paraguard. Insertion was very painful for me, I had chronic back from it and my periods were extremely heavy. When I got it out to get pregnant it was like my body breathed a huge sigh of relief.

IUD?
I have a Paraguard IUD. I love it. I cannot use birth control with hormones so it was my only option. Initially my periods were very heavy- after a few months it got better- I still have one day of very heavy flow each cycle but other than that my period lasts 3-4 days. This is my second paraguard IUD.

Re: IUD?
I’ve had mirena for about 2 mos. I have a history or heavy periods, bad cramps, bad pms, and anxiety. So far I’m loving it. My first periods have been practically nonexistent, no pms symptoms at all. Obviously it hasn’t been a long time but if this is how it’ll be, I’m a fan.

IUD?
The hormones are not systemic, they remain very local in the uterus

IUD?
I love my mirena. I love not thinking about it. I love the light periods. It seems like you either love it or hate it. My one friend highly recommended it, and she was on her second one. Our other friend tried it for 6 months and hated it. It all depends on how your body reacts to it.

Can I ask why the were rough? Was it hormones or heavier periods?
I used to have really heavy periods but since my DD, they have been a breeze! I'm afraid to go back! We want to try for another now, but after an oops in October (which sadly ended in miscarriage), I'm realizing I need to get on the ball for BC. I don't want more than two!

IUD?
The first 6 months your body is adjusting to it. There can be frequent cramping and break through bleeding. I wore a liner almost every day in case of bleeding, but it was typically very light so I didn't even need it. Some days I had cramping, but it was less than a period.

This was why my first few months were rough. I had a lot of spotting, which i hated, but once my body regulated, it was great! I didn't have cramping, but I never did before either.

Gotcha! Thank you for this- I'm trying to figure out what to use in the future.
