Re: ok, let's be honest... TP
Honestly I did order a ton of TP before anyone was stocking up on anything in February. I didn't do it to hoard TP I just was stocking up on things since I don't keep any surplus of anything in my house ever and my husband asked me to please get a couple weeks of supplies. At that point I thought about how we go thru TP and I ordered a ton of it from Target. I didn't hoard it on purpose!

We have memberships to costco, bjs, and sams. We only buy in bulk, so technically I guess we hoard everything lol. I buy toilet paper 3x a year and that's it. We were lucky that I bought a few weeks before the virus hit the US, so I didn't have to run out to find it.

Same here only I only buy it like 2x a year. The last week of February (before all the craziness hit here), I went to Costco because I was due for paper towels, lysol wipes (I normally buy the 5 pack of them about 3-4x a year - I have always used them for EVERYTHING), toilet paper, soap, napkins and tissues.

I have a supply, but I didn’t hoard it. They call hoard buying Hamsterkauf (hamster buying here), fun fact. And hoarders are called Messie or Hamsterer.
I’m actually keeping track how much I use these days. But I have enough for a few weeks. If I see some, I buy some, but that is not so common here. Our beer distributor sells TP. I have noticed that the beer supply has gone down here. That’s worrying to me. We have aisles upon aisles of beer, from the floor to the ceiling. Now it’s dwindling.

No. When people started going crazy, my DH noted that we had 3 rolls left. Usually that would last us a while since we’re out of the house most of the day. I happened to go to the store that day and picked up a 12 pack - THANK GOD I did. We’ve gone through almost 3 rolls since we’re home all day now.

Re: ok, let's be honest... TP
So before the shit hit the fan (no pun intended! ) DH had been on a normal run of the mill trip to BJ's and picked up our usual huge BJ's pack. We had a little less than half of our open pack at home, so he figured it was time to pick one.
I'm glad he did because once it started getting bad, seeing that FULL package in the garage along with what ever was left in the other package made me feel safe.
We just recently opened that new package so we should be good for a while, but I have been seeing more and more TP lately in stores so I think it's going to get better

I probably have about 30 rolls in the house... I just always do... it seems to go fast here so I usually pick up another one or two 12-packs when we get down to 10-15 rolls left or so. I didn’t realize this was not the norm. My FIL/MIL and BIL/SIL both ran out (or close to it) early on & I offered them some but they decided to wait it out.

We have a bidet. You still need TP. Sometimes I feel like you need more because it makes you all wet too and makes matters... kind of worse you be honest. I am not a fan.

Re: ok, let's be honest... TP
I was planning to grocery shop in Costco to get essentials so there would be less stuff to worry about after I gave birth. We usually stay home for at least 2 weeks after having a baby. I gave birth I last week. So we went to Costco in mid march and got toilet paper that we normally do not use just to have.

Bidets should be used with bidet cloths, I think.

Re: ok, let's be honest... TP
My answer is no. I always buy a 36 pack from BJs when I buy TP and I just happen to pick one up about a month before this started
I am going through paper towel a lot though and have them on back order.
I want a bidet. My nephew got one off amazon that attached to the toilet. He said it was a great investment. That’s next up after all this settles

Re: ok, let's be honest... TP
We buy a 24-pack every two weeks. We had just purchased one right before this all started. Two weeks ago, I found some at a deli and bought it. Yesterday, I ordered some on Amazon. The rolls are industrial size, but whatever...it's toilet paper. It was the only toilet paper I could find that would come fairly soon (says by April 20th). Everything else wouldn't come until May or June according to Amazon.

Re: ok, let's be honest... TP
to answer my own question... i think we fall under the "yes" category.
SO's mother needs care 24/7. she needs help to go to the bathroom. she doesn't know how to wipe any more. because of this, we always make sure that items that help to keep her clean are always well stocked in the house.
like many others, we had recently made a costco run for these types of items just before things got crazy. since then, every time i see a store restock i buy more. it helps me sleep knowing that i don't have to worry about her care during this crisis.
