WWYD
I need advice. I am going in to talk to my principal this week but I would like advice for this. Tomorrow I am 38 weeks pregnant. I am due Sept 8th. I currently teach high school special education. I teach both life skills classes and inclusion classes. As of my last drs. appt. I am not ready to go at all! The baby is really high up. I was planning on going back for the first day of school (superintendents conference day) on Sept 2nd for my tenure and my sick days and then I wasn't planning on coming back until the first week in Nov. However, I am now thinking if I don't go on time, I am not going to have as much time with my little one as I want. I would go back (although Im exhausted) but Im concerned the children in my life skills class are going to get confused that I am there one day and not there another. I am also afraid of going into labor in school, but the chances of that are quite slim. What do you think? Should I go back or should I just start my maternity leave as of Sept. 3rd.? Thanks for your advice.

Re: WWYD
If you can do it, hang in there and teach as long as you can. You said you're really high so it's possible you'll go past your due date. Each day you "save" will be one more day with your baby!
Congratulations!!!!

I would stay as long as possible and spend more time with the baby. Don't worry about anything else. Everyone will manage! xoxoxo botb

Re: WWYD
stay at work as long as you can. when did you tell the district you are leaving by? you will be held to that date. hopefully you put your due date or a later date!
i worked until the last day. DS was induced...he wouldn't have come until probably a week or so after my due date. and i would have worked on my due date (which was july 1) but school just ended 3 days before it.

Re: WWYD
Teach as long as you feel up to it. I was SO scraed fo going into labor during the state test or something, but happily labor started at home at night
I really think teaching until the end helped me feel great and have an easy labor.
Just try to stay off your feet as much as possible, have water handy.
Good luck and enjoy your time with your
