when r contractions cause for concern..

friday night i did not feel well at all..

my stomach was very hard and contracting all night..not like 5 min apart but every 15 min or so

now i was dead tired friday...we had a very long week of shopping for nursery, putting things together,i washed some clothes,we went food shopping, met game etc

Friday night i was so tired and we ran back to bru to exchange something...

i was in pain not horrible but i felt it ...when we got home i had water, laid down and fell asleep and felt better sat

friday dh wanted to go to hospital but i said no...so my question is when u feel like this or think u r contracting is it ok to stay at home and see how it pans out or did i do something dumb by just waiting it out

i am 30 weeks withChat Icon Chat Icon

when r contractions cause for concern..

Anytime I had contractions that were uncomfortable after 29 weeks I would get it checked whether at doctors office or hospital since I have had a 35 week preemie (ds). Since you are carrying twins not to scare you but the chance of preterm delivery is greater so just to be safe you should get checked.

i would call the dr. and probably go to the ER if its at night (your OB will be on call anyway to deliver) you may be dehydrated although you are drinking water it may not be enough...when I was pregnant with Thomas I felt this way exactly at 28 weeks and had to be on an IV for fluids for the night...it can lead to preterm labor so at this point I would heir on the side of caution...

good luck...
LUK how it goes...

Re: when r contractions cause for concern..

I agree with the other ladies. Give a call to let the Doc know whats going on. Pay attention and write down what you feel, how often and when (time of day, after activity, etc.)

I had pre-term labor at your stage and was in the hospital for a couple of days to stop. It's no bueno being there and on heavy meds.

My Dr. and Peri said more than 7 contractions in an hr is cause for concern also if they're lasting minutes long.

Hope you can rest, feet up or on your side and drink up.

Thinking of you and FM if you need.

G, let us know how you made out. I felt horrible all day yesterday. I couldn't figure out if I had AF-like cramps or if I was having contractions, Turns out I had a high fiber breakfast that could have done it.
Then, all night it was hard and I had back pain and I can't tell if it came in waves on and off or if it was one continuous discomfort. My back hurt like hell for the first time ever, too. I chugged water and feel better today but still twinges of pain on the right...... I am a little nervous.

Michelle,

Everyone feels "contractions" differently...and with you and G having 2 babies I would not F around...you both sound like your having contractions to me based on my experience with Thomas...try to drink 16 oz. of water EVERY HOUR and see if they subside...keep your feel up and no lifting... if you still feel crampy/tightness and back discomfort PLEASE call the dr. ---

they will probaby send you to the hospital and get monitored...sometimes you can have contractions and not even know it too...the machine will pick it up

The other day I was having pressure (like I had to poop but it was on top of the vag)...and very slight cramps...they had me come in ASAP bc those are signes of preterm labor...I WAS FINE...but thankfully, i went to find out...

DONT WASTE TIME...BETTER SAFE THEN SORRY
