Dilemma with preschool
I swicthed DS's daycare this past summer because of the class size of his last one. (he wasn't doing so well with it) The new daycare had a class half of the size but really crappy teachers. I was going to pull him out and then they hired a really good one! I was pretty happy for a few weeks since the new teacher took over but yesterday she approached me and said she doesn't think this is the right environment for my son. Where I live they do not offer FULL TIME preschool for children with special needs. They only offer a 2.5 hour program (not 5 days a week either) I am a working mother and I am in a really hard predicament.
I have 2 options.
Change the daycare again. Send him to the special program for 2.5 hours for however many dys they give me and keep him in this same daycare after the program or another program.
This is really hard on me I worry about him all day.
I don't have the best options where I live. Sorry.....venting......

Re: Dilemma with preschool
DS was just qualified for a developmental preschool (just turned 3).
Where I live they also do not provide an all day program. He is going to go 5 days a week, 2.5 hours a day. It's pretty much the max they give here. 3 of those days, he will still be going to daycare since I work. On those days, he will take a bus to the preschool and then back to daycare.
I like our daycare so I'm okay with the plan. If I wasn't, I might look at other options.
Did the teacher say why she didn't think this was a good fit? Does she just think he needs more? Does she know about your upcoming plans?

Re: Dilemma with preschool
My son goes to a program an hour away from us because we thought it was the best fit for him. It was also full-time and we needed that. My home District didn't fight it much either. They provide busing to and from.
Good luck.
