I out the eggs in room temperature water while I boil water. Once the water has come to a boil I add the ends for about 15 minutes. I put them back into the room temperature water, or a little cooler, waiting about 10 minutes... Crack and peel!

I have to google instructions every Easter. Chat Icon I cover the eggs with an 1-2" of cold water, add a splash of white vinegar (to make them easier to peel) and a dash of salt (prevents cracking), bring to a boil (uncovered), let them boil for 3 minutes, then cover and remove from heat and leave them for 12 minutes and then immediately transfer to an ice bath. Perfect every time. Chat Icon

I always boiled them before, but right now I am trying out the baking method - bake for 30 min at 325, then submerge in ice bath to stop cooking process. Fingers crossed!

Curious to see how this works...

I did my eggs textbook and they were still hard to peel this morning (I made deviled eggs to bring as an Easter appy).

It worked well - although I haven't tried to peel them yet, since we colored them for Easter - but they did leave faint brown spots where they sat in the tin that didn't wash off, so I won't use this method for coloring eggs again.

start them in cold water, once the water reaches a rolling boil cover the pot, turn off the heat, and let sit for 10 minutes.

We tried this for easter egg and while I have not tried them yet I will say that not a single egg cracked.

Cold water, bring to a boil. Boil for one minute.
Remove from heat. Cover for 12 minutes. Then place in cold water.
I actually had to google how to do this.
And there are apparently many different ways to make a hard boiled egg. Haha!

Same here...its from simply recipes...works perfect all the time!

Put the eggs in a pan, add cold water to cover, add a bit of salt and a bit of vinegar. Bring to a full boil. Turn off heat, cover with tight fitting lid and let stand for about 15 minutes. The whites are cooked and the yolk is firm and creamy and yellow instead of having that weird greenish tint around it.
