Sleep issues
I should be thankful my 6 year old dd has no problem getting to sleep. She's usually asleep by 8:45. However, she's been waking up during the night for the past 2 months at around 3:30am....and times not going back to sleep and other times falling asleep again around 6. She'll call for me and if I don't go in her room I run the risk of her waking up my 2 year old. This only used to happen once a week so I didn't mind. Now it happens at least 3x a week. I'm a teacher and go back to work in 2 weeks and can't be starting my day at3am. I've tried charts...I don't really think she gets it. Melatonin is a route I don't want to take. But if anyone has suggestions, I'd appreciate it!

Re: Sleep issues
This happens a lot with DS (he's going to be 5 in Dec).
He gets up and comes into our bed though.
Personally, I chalk it up to normal kid stuff. He will tell me he gets scared at night being alone downstairs and sometimes in the day, he will randomly talk about bad dreams he has had.
If he falls back asleep, since he's such a restless sleeper, we will carry him back into his bed.
DS also has a TV in his room so while this is not the best thing in the world, it can be a huge help in coaxing him to go back into his room at night. And most of the time, he also falls back asleep that way.
