Re: opinion on wedding venue

My sister got married at Westbury Manor and I have been to a few other weddings there. Very nice, they always do a great job. Food was great, cocktail hour was very plentiful and it was an hour and a half.
Pretty grounds. Top shelf liquors, and they bend over backwards to accommodate you and what you want. Everything was very well done.

I went to look at Woodbury Country Club for my own wedding years ago but wasn't a fan at the time, it just seemed run down but I am thinking they have redone it since so I really can't speak to it now.

opinion on wedding venue

I had my Wedding at Westbury Manor and they did an amazing job. The gardens were a beautiful touch and allowed my guests some outdoor space during the party. The food was delicious! I am still hoping to attend a wedding there as a guest some day so I can enjoy all the cocktail hour food without having to worry about greeting guests and taking pictures. I am very picky and had NO COMPLAINTS. They went above and beyond to accommodate different dietary issues including my mother's multiple food allergies.

One of my best friends got married at Westbury Manor in 2014. It was really nice, the garden area is gorgeous for pictures. The food was really good, they had 7 main choice options to choose from.

I've never been to NHP inn. The last time I went to a wedding at Woodbury Country Club was 2007 and I don't know if anything has changed and I don't remember the food.

Woodbury country club.. Mm I wasn't a fan. It just seemed sort of old and traditional and very very dark. I just remember thinking how dark everything was. Maybe it was just the wedding.

Have you looked into any nyc places? What type of feel are you looking for?

opinion on wedding venue

If I had to choose I would do inn at new Hyde park. I have been to a wedding at all 3. My brother in law got married at Woodbury country club- I was in the bridal party as was DH. What my SIL ended up not liking was the small bridal suites and 2 weddings at a time- they had to be pulled for pictures since they didn't want the 2 brides seeing each other and were secluded to the down stairs where their wedding was. As for the other 2 venues I was just a guest. Good food and no complaints but don't have any info on the "behind the scenes" type of thing!

I have been to two weddings at the Inn and while it is nice I don't think their food is very good especially their cocktail hour food. Room was nice though. Have you ever looked into the Royalton in Roslyn?

the room I would be in @ woodbury CC has been re done. Its very neutral with grays and whites. I LOVE the room and the possibility of an outdoor cocktail and vienesse hour (weather permitting) would be ideal.

with westbury manor i KNOW i will be getting the BEST service and the food is good, but i HATE the room.

the INN is $$ but I love the room and their staff looks polished, which is also important. The only feedback I got was that the food wasnt good.

the venue in NYC that i want wants a minimum of 107k... Chat Icon

My cousin was married at Woodbury last year. The food was great and the service was awesome. It was December so I can't comment on the grounds.

I've been to Westbury Manor for several weddings. It's a very pretty venue, beautiful outdoor area, the food is fine and the service is good. I just get the whole "wedding factory" vibe when I'm there. Every time I have been there, the valet has been crazy. Coat check and bathroom had lines too.

opinion on wedding venue

Good friends of ours were married at Westbury Manor. Everything was very nice the only issue was the room was small for the amount of guests they had. So unless you are having a big wedding you will be fine.

never been to any of those but IMO I think food is the most important since that is what you are really paying for. can you do a tasting at all of them.

have you considered the Chateau Briand? i had my wedding there and you got so much food and i thought it was good. they also had an awesome area for an outdoor cocktail hour i just couldn't use it Chat Icon

we will be doing tasting before we give a deposit. we are VERY critical with food but I have to tell FH to keep an open mind because they are CATERING halls unless he wants to spend 107k for the nyc venue Chat Icon

we went to chateau and they were charging a lot more for a lot less than every other place

the minimum is too high for the new space. we are just inviting our close friends and family that we have spoken to within the last few months.

I've been to a few weddings at Westbury Manor and usually they are good. But the wedding I attended there a few weeks ago wasn't great. food was fine, not as good as usual, but service was atrocious!!!! I don't know what the deal was that night, maybe they were short staffed, but just make sure you are on them about that! INP is really nice, WCC, I haven't been to in years...I think I looked at them in 2009 for my almost wedding and wasn't too impressed, but i don't remember much!

Our wedding was at Westbury Manor in June 2014. I can not express enough about how amazing they were and how the staff went above & beyond for us. Not a single thing went wrong. The grounds are stunning. I keep hoping we get invited to a wedding there so i can experience as a guest since people are literally still raving about our wedding.

I got married at North Ritz, absolutely loved my wedding and my guests raved about it.
Only one wedding at a time, which is what was important to us, lovely outdoor space, unfortunate for us, it rained on our wedding day. Food was great, we only got a few bites in.
I remember before the ceremony, the bridal attendant wrapping me in a tablecloth so I could have a cup of coffee and eat some fruit she brought.

The Carltun is gorgeous! We went for a tasting and the food is great. We just didn't have our wedding because it's very $$. Everything is extra (valet, etc).

We were booked to have our wedding at Woodbury Country Club and canceled it because when we went for a tasting the food was terrible.

Westbury Manor is a beautiful place, but DH is tall and ha felt the main room was too small, he felt "claustrophobic" he was pickier than me when choosing a venue !Chat Icon
