opinion on wedding venue
I've been to Westbury Manor a few times. The cocktail hour was good, but I did not like the dinner any of the times. The steak was awful
NHP Inn food was pretty good and the renovations are really nice, but there's no nice views or anything if you're looking for that. It's right on a main road surrounded by stores and houses.
Never been to Woodbury CC so I can't comment on that

Had my baby shower at Westbury Manor too. The cocktail hour was delicious. The entrees were ok. They offered a lot of extras for the price we paid. Staff was very attentive. Have you looked into The Woodlands in Syosset? Had my wedding there....amazing!!

Re: opinion on wedding venue
I was married at westbury manor in 2006 - 10 years ago!! We looked at a ton of places and they offered the most and we had a great experience. The food was awesome, the cocktail was outside (August) and we also got married outside. It was gorgeous and I loved that it was just one wedding at a time. I loved the mansion feel, the grounds are beautiful too,

opinion on wedding venue
I've been to all 3 of them and looked at them for our wedding and my sisters...Honest opinions: Westbury Manor: Food is GREAT! Service is GREAT! Had several friends get married there and no complaints. We couldn't because they couldn't give us the room we wanted for our ceremony. Also, I didn't like that if we had the cocktail hour inside because of weather it was 3 separate (even though very pretty) rooms. Inn at NHP: This is where I SO wanted to get married but the price was out of our budget. My little sister's boyfriend is a bartender there (it's actually where they met). They will nickel and dime the hell out of you. I did a food tasting and I actually liked the food. The beef wellington was AMAZING!!!! And the cocktail room, plus outside, plus bridal FLOOR, I love that place. Woodbury Country Club: My cousin got married here YEARS ago and we looked for my sisters wedding. They were SO nice and very accommodating. The food was good, I've had better. The room I found to be underwhelming but can be fixed once you add the lighting and centerpieces, etc. No experience with the Carlton at Eisenhower. I had a neighbor get married there but she did a Gatsby Wedding.
I do really love the North Ritz. I NEVER finish my food at a wedding and I finished my entire plate! Food was some of the best I've had at a wedding.
CONGRATS again! So happy for you guys!!!!

opinion on wedding venue
OK so I agree with you 100% that the room at WM is eh. It would bother me, too. Did you try bargaining with Chateau? I had those two venues on my top 2 list and I brought them the paperwork and said "why can;t you give me what WM is giving me for the same price?" They worked with me and I even got more things thrown in at Chateau than WM would have given me. And although they were both scotto bros properties, WM wasn't willing to put the beer into glasses and I wasn't about to have beer bottles everywhere... Chateau didn't need to know I needed the LDV room anyway, since my guest list was huge. Like someone else said, the north ritz was phenomenalllllllll Try it! Also look into Marina Del Rey

Woodbury country club.. Mm I wasn't a fan. It just seemed sort of old and traditional and very very dark. I just remember thinking how dark everything was. Maybe it was just the wedding.
Have you looked into any nyc places? What type of feel are you looking for?
this! - re: woodbury. just from going to visit it.

Re: opinion on wedding venue
Seriously, try North Ritz in Syosset. One event at a time.
They really did a great job. One of my favorite pictures is the reveal where DH saw me for the first time. I was half way down the grand staircase that leads down from the bridal suite down to the main level where the reception and cocktail rooms are. The chapel is on the lower level, because of rain we couldn't use the outdoor space.

It's not the place for you - you're too much of a foodie. You need a place that does exceptional quality food and service, not just chafing dishes of sausage and peppers. I would start by looking at one wedding at a time locations.

Re: opinion on wedding venue
We don't want to spend a lot since the plan is to also purchase a home very soon. Fh and I joked that if we had it at le bernardin, most of the guests wouldn't appreciate it or eat the food at all. WE are foodies, most people are content with fried calamari. Haha.

LOL you have to find the right balance - I LOVE all the typical catering food, you just have to find some place that does it REALLY well.
Watermill, the Metropolitan and Venetian Yacht Club had really great food and prices too!

The Bronx Zoo does a wonderful wedding but it is $$$$. The botanical gardens also does a beautiful party.

Can you add to the base menu? It is such a great location for a wedding.

inn @ nhp is gorgeous, but it was over $200/pp when I looked there and out of my budget. I also was not a fan of their dance floor. It was VERY small. Their cocktail hour room was out of this world amazing, though
ETA: i went to a wedding at giorgio's and was blown away. the views are amazing, and the cocktail hour was 1.5 hours. I also loved that they did a wine and cheese pairing station outside overlooking the vineyards. What a nice touch!

Re: opinion on wedding venue
You know I've been to a million weddings on LI, and way too many catering halls to count. Of your options, my order would be Inn at NHP, then Woodbury CC, then Westbury Manor.
But as others said, I also recommend checking out North Ritz (I'm obviously super biased toward them), Giorgio's, Carlyle on the Green, Larkfield Manor, DeSeversky, Bourne Mansion.
