A little personal..no a lot personal..Is anyone planning to NOT breastfeed or attempt it at all...

I am on the fence, and was just curious where we all stood on this. I know it is extremely personal, so if you don't feel comfy, I understand...

I am on the fence also. Not really planning on it. Will probably try..and maybe do it for a short time, but definitely not planning on exclusivley BF'ing..

I have no intention of BF. It's a little annoying having to explain to everyone why not, but I never really wanted to, it's not convenient with my work (no where to pump), and I just don't want to deal with the stress everyone puts themselves through over it.

To answer your question. I am not breastfeeding.
At all.
Period.
I have no desire to. I never had. People said- oh that will change once your pregnant. Nope.

It's not for me. There is no way I can EVER see myself doing it. No way. I am just not that kind of person. It's hard to describe why if you don't know me- but if you know me, you'd understand why. I just could never do it.

Even thinking about it gives me anxiety.
My sister and I were both FF and we were fine. Never sick a day in our lives.
I have no problem with formula...

I too find it VERY annoying that people always ask "why not?" and "dont you know how good it is for the baby?"...its a personal choice...and I dont like having to explain why

I want to give it a try but I am telling myself that if it doesn't work out then that's OK. I tried. DS wasn't breastfed and he turned out fine so I am not going to beat myself up for giving up if I can not do it.

I did try in the hospital and planned to while I was pg. After giving birth, I was just so over exhausted that when the nurse told me not to smother DS with my boob, I lost it and asked for the bottle.

I probably could have done it, I was just not in the mood at the time. Bottle feeding worked out for us much better than breastfeeding would have.

I am hoping to give pumping a try but I would imagine it not being convenient when I go back to work.

I want to try. I was FF and so was DH, so I have nothing against it, but I'd like to try BF.

If I can, I will. I will probably not EBF and will most likely pump and bottle feed.

I have no issues with FF if that's what works out best for us.

I am not planning on BF at all. I have having twins and while it has been done before I will not be doing it myself!

I will NOT be even attempting to BF. It's not for me. Generally, I do not explain myself to anyone who asks me as it is personal question and I don't understand why people (meaning in real life - not when people ask on the board for opinions!) even feel the need to ask me. I also politley tell people that they can BF their children if they choose but I am choosing not to BF mine!

I know people may view my reasons for not BF as "selfish", but I need to be happy and sane to be the best parent!
Basically, I am very uncomfortable with the idea of BF and can never picture myself doing it outside the privacy of my home (even with a cover on). I also do not want to be the only person who can feed . I do not want to pump either. I really want my body back! Plus, I don't think there is anything wrong with formula. My sisters and I as well as DH and his sisters were all formula fed and we all turned out perfectly healthy.

With DS #1 I put him on the breast in the hospital (up until that point I was 50/50) but when we got home he had problems latching and I was going back to work in 7 weeks so I put him on formula...and then pumped. Once my milk came in he was on BM but I pumped the entire time.

I am going to do the same with #2 but I do supplement with formula. It is what is in and in the end the most important thing is that they EAT!

I'm also on the fence. DH doesn't want me to. I'm on a med that I need to come off of (which I'm a little nervous about) if I want to try.

But- I don't want to regret not trying...

i will not be BFing..
i have no desire and dont feel comfortable with it.

and if people have problems with it, or think of me different. then oh well.. i dont even explain myself..
its really not for everyone.

These are almost exactly my reasons- word for word.
And you know what- I admit- I am selfish.
I always have been selfish.
I'm not ashamed to say I want my body back. I want to eat and drink what I want. I want to pop a pill if I need it for a headache, whatever. I want to go back to work as soon as possible and not worry about pumping.
This is going to be a LONG 9 months as it is and I don't want to extend it any further.
I don't feel comfortable using my breasts for that purpose (even though that is what they are meant for). I have hangs up and issues.

Regardless- it's nobody's business.

I really am hoping to and I am planning on trying. But it is very possible I will have to go back on my arthritis meds post partum and I won't be able to after that if at all.

I refuse to beat myself up over this, same way I refuse to beat myself up over the fact that I probably cannot have a V birth, let alone a natural one.

My theory is I want a happy and healthy baby-whatever I need to do to make sure she is eating and has a mommy who is capable of caring for her I will do.

See, if it were me, this would be my answer, because i am incredibly obnoxious to overly nosy people-I would love to BF but I am worried that it might interfere with my crack smoking.

Can you tell I hate being asked personal things by strangers?

Nope. I tried with DS and I hated it. Wasnt for me and when people would say "Breast is best" it made me cringe finally one day I yelled at DH's uncle an said "Stop it. I'm not bf'ing let it go already. If you can produce milk please by all means you go ahead and feed him" Nothing was said after that!!!!!!!

I never BF with my two and they grew up perfectly healthy. At some healthier than friends kids that all they did was BF them. With that said I'm not BFing this time around either. Like most on here it's not for me. all the way!

Not doing it this time and not even trying. I breastfed DD for 2 weeks and it just wasn't for me.
