Re: A little personal..no a lot personal..Is anyone planning to NOT breastfeed or attempt it at all...
Didn't BF for #1 and won't for #2. Not even going to try.
It is not practical to live my life in seclusion - we have a HUGE family that is always around and I have no desire to flash my breasts in my father or brother-in-laws' faces. Plus I could never deal with the pain/swelling/bleeding/rawness of it all. Lastly....even if BF is "better" I am still not sold that it is that much "better" for the baby and honestly everyone I know with food allergies has been breast fed!
When the nurses and/or friends look at me like I am a horrible mother for not BF it doesn't bother me at all because I know I am not. Am I totally selfish? Maybe. But I can live with that. My DC#1 is a happy healthy intelligent well-adjusted toddler so I must have done something right.

Just curious what you girls who are convinced you are not doing it, would do if your breast were leaking months before birth.
Mine started around 22 weeks and wont stop, leaking more even. And while I always thought I would definitely try it, I feel now like well I guess I have to. The choice I feel is just taken away from me.
What would you feel/do?
I've been lucky so far in that my boobs have neither changed much size-wise nor have they leaked yet, but even if they do - I'm still not BF'ing - to me, it's the same as dealing with your milk when it comes in - I'm not looking forward to it, but it will stop and go away and is just something I will have to deal with. The truth is, even if you BF, you will have to deal with this at some point when you wean. It's unfortunately unavoidable unless your milk never comes in and I just don't see it influencing my decision.

didnt with dd and wont with this dc either...best decision i made..didn't even think once of bf....totally not for me at all.....not comfortable with the whole concept... never was...."the breast is best" concept has been tested over and over and i believe there is a book out just recently by a woman who actually did breastfeed and basically shows that the "breast is best" idea might not be wholeheartedly true....formula is the best its been in yrs anyway....good luck w ur decision and be comfortable with your choice bc that's exactly what it is a personal choice so dont let anyone make u feel any different

i am going to give it a shot and if it doesn't work out, then so be it, i'm not going to stress myself over it.
