You are letting him explore and create something on his own.
I agree...my pediatritian once told me: feed her what she wants...when her body needs other nutrients, she'll ask for other foods. Sure enough, after 3 solid days of chicken nuggets and french fries (all baked in the oven ), she WANTED veggies!
