It is very disturbing.
see--its statements like THIS is why people aren't taking your posts seriously. because we don't see your POV we are 'brainwashed'?
i respect any republican who comes on here and expresses their admiration for the canidate they are voting for. that is THEIR choice and its fine. but you seem to just want to talk down to those of us who might be supporting Obama, as if we are idiots. please don't assume we are being 'brainwashed' just because we don't agree with you, i find that statement to be just plain silly.
oh and i guess the National Organization of Women (NOW) must be brainwashed too--they endorsed Obama.

I totally agree. I appreciate those who actually posted their beliefs and admiration for their candidate, and had an interesting discussion on FM with someone that didn't go south. i really enjoyed it actually. Snowflake, I know you mean well but you could take a lesson from some of the other republicans who were able to share their views without resorting to personal attacks, unverified BS and other nonsense. You are not helping your cause

that still makes no sense---you are sitting here passing judgement on us and saying we are 'brainwashed' for supporting Obama--and you think that's okay to generalize and make such an insulting remark?
now THAT is disturbing.

Jesus Laura.
Throw Warren Buffet, Colin Powell, Caroline Kennedy, Maria Shriver among others to your list of intelligent people who have been brainwashed.
Are you even thinking about what you're saying?
That YOU, a school administrator from NY, knows who and what Obama really is? That a prominent business man, decorated war general and women from two very active political families are blinded? But YOU see the truth???
THINK about what you're saying.

Now wait a second... Don't you think a statement like this is a little extreme?
In all fairness, those who support Obama could make the same claim but we know that's not true.
Everyone has their opinions for supporting the candidate of their choice. I don't think anyone is being brainwashed or having the wool pulled over their eyes.
I understand you feel attacked but a comment like this only strokes the fire, it does nothing to quell it.
I think everyone needs to take a step back from this thread and move on...
Now has anyone else answered my local election thread recently???

Wow. I never agreed with your points, but at least I used to respect your opinion. It's amazing that with a few (poorly punctuated) lines, you can completely discredit yourself. Congratulations.

Re: An open question to McCain supporters....

Several things making me lean towards McCain. Some of them are:
1. His unquestionable and complete loyalty and service to his country - both while in the military and Vietnam, and his many years as senator.
2. His understanding of the need for small businesses to be allowed to be profitable and to remain in the US and the fact that he does not believe that "tax the rich" is the answer to every problem.
3. His repeated emphasis on the need to cut frivolous spending.
4. His understanding that although the war in Iraq is unpopular and everyone wants the troops to come home, to simply "pull out" without planning would be detrimental to the security of the US.
5. I feel confidence in his leadership and experience. I think the "real" McCain is the person he was in past years and that he has not accurately portrayed his "true" views on issues during this campaign. Unfortunately for some reason he feels he has to pander to his constituents.
6. Yes I am pro choice, however, I cannot be held hostage by a candidate on one social issue.
MY EXACT REASONING!!!! I am also Pro-Choice BUT will continue to vote McCain!
