I hope you did your due diligence and are also aware of any possible fringe groups that are endorsing mccain.

Listen--i'm just fact checking what you posted as "truth" -- and a minute ago when it was working in your favor--it was okay. but now showing the link that you must not have checked on this blog is just a silly facebook group--suddenly its a joke?
Yes there is a group called Democratic Socialists for AMERICA -- and they seem to favor Obama...but as everyone has said -- he does not CHOOSE who supports him. You say its "guilty by assocation" but if he's not ASSOCIATING with these groups how is he guilty?

Economic policies - I am not for big government. McCain is anti-ear mark and the only senator not to take pork barrel earmark for any project in his state. He will curb government spending. Obama's tax policy is atrocious. i know last time i discussed this on lifamilies, I almost got my head bit off, but here I go...My DH and I make over 250K. My DH likes to call his story "The TAle of 2 brothers' - he grew up in a single parent home and they had NO money. He worked during high school to help out withe bills and stayed in school while his friends and brother pretty much did nothing. he said it would have been so much easier to be like them and do nothing instead of working 2 jobs in high school and studying. After high school he worked for about 4 years, still helping pay the bills. he decided that he wanted to go to college b/c he wanted to make more money and build more of a career rather than a job. He paid for college, still helped his mom with expenses, and graduated with a 4.0 average. He got a job in finance and 2 years ago decided to get his MBA, which he did while still working. My DH works long hours, many weekdays he doesn't get to see DS awake. His brother, on the other hand, managed to get arrested a bunch of times, can't seem to hold down a job, got involved in drugs and had 3 children that he can't provide for. We help contribute financially for his 3 children and still help his mother when she needs it. DH wants to scream and punch his fist through the tv when he hears Obama talk about "spreading the wealth". My DH worked his azz off to get where he is and still does work his azz off. Why does he have to share his "wealth" with someone like his brother. They both made choices and my DH said why does his brother get to benefit from his choice. His mother found out my DH got a raise, so she asked if he could give her another $100 in addition to what he gave her last month (DH has major issues with his mother ) - DH asked why she needed more and she said why are you being so selfish? You got a raise, what is another $100? - my DH equated her to the American public - she didn't care how hard he worked to get that raise, she felt she was entitled b/c he had more money. I thought this was an interesting article http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122385651698727257.html
that's a great story and really makes a good point about the tax policy Obama supports. I agree with you that it's not right.
In addition, $250k a year is about what's needed for a family to live on LI- it's certainly not an indication of the wealthy here.

Re: An open question to McCain supporters....
This is straight from the Democratic Socialists of America's Newsletter called "New Ground"
"Barak Obama is serving only his second term in the Illinois State Senate so he might be fairly charged with ambition… Obama also has put in time at the grass roots, working for five years as a community organizer in Harlem and in Chicago. When Obama participated in a 1996 UofC YDS Townhall Meeting on Economic Insecurity, much of what he had to say was well within the mainstream of European social democracy."

yeah, your reputation precedes you..... eta - and it has NOTHING to do with having an opinion. It has to do, at least in this case, with citing information to be factual when there is no evidence that it is anything more than an opinion
it stems from starting drama and not being able to back up your facts

I actually thought the article was pretty good and that the sources from where the author took his facts were pretty reliable - I thought it was interesting with some substance to back it up. i am not asking anyone to agree with it - I was asked a reason as why I supported a particular candidate and I used that article. I do read the WSJ alot - they have interesting articles primarily about the economy, which for me is a number one issue.
