Any other potty training moms afraid to leave the house?
I am so afraid to say it..but KNOCK ON WOOD..
Megan is pretty much accident free during the day. Its actually been much easier than I had expected. The first day was H ELL but from there, she got the hang of it and has been doing great!!
I am a SAHM and can obviously plan my day accordingly. We havent really been anywhere in the past week..just quick trips here and there. Everywhere we went, had a bathroom so I wasnt worried. But now I am so nervous about leaving the house, taking walks, going to the playground. Tonight we are supposed to go watch fireworks at the piers near me, and there is no bathroom. I have one of those small potties for the car but we may have to park far away. I am STRESSING about this. I am also nervous about accidents in stores (Noel! LOL)
What were your strategies? Did this make you nervous as well?? I am SO PROUD of her but I am hoping when we leave the house, she does just as well.

Re: Any other potty training moms afraid to leave the house?
You know what? I thought I would be afraid to leave the house when we trained her, but I just brought extra clothes, something to put over the carseat if she peed in it and that was that. I needed to get out! And I thought that it would help her realize if I actually put her in real life situations. Also, we brought the potty and put it in the trunk for those emergency situations. Potty training was so much easier than I ever thought it would be. It wasn't easy, but easier than I thought it would be. Just be prepared for the worst and hope for the best!

Just do it Noreen. Don't even think about it. You will be so surprised at how well they adapt and can hold it if need to. Make her pee before you leave and limit drinks while on the go.
I always carry a portable, foldable potty ring in a ziploc bag, potty toppers so the ring doesn't touch the toilet seat, and wipes. And a full change of clothes or two!! I also have the Gotta Go portable potty in the back of my car (which Lauren seems to think is a regular toilet and likes to have to use it all the time ). But with training 2 kids so far, neither of them have ever had an accident while we were out.
I'm so proud of Megan Good Luck!

We pottied trained our twins this week too. They were accident free M-F and I did not leave the house with them until fri night. They of course had to go at the supermarket, stores, etc, but they did great, no accidents. We did bring changes of clothes, the potty topper, the car potty. Of course they are scared to death of those automatic flusher things in the public restrooms
