Re: Any teacher Mommies going to have separation issues when school starts?
It won't be difficult for me, but it's going to be incredibly difficult for my son. I can't so much as walk two feet from him these days without him freaking out. If I'm not in sight, he'll cry and cry until I'm back. he's 14 months, so he gets it when I'm not around. The only good thing is that I know once I'm out of the house, he'll be fine. Plus, he's with my husband all day, so it's not like he's ever without one of us. I know from when my daughter was little that the more I feel comfortable leaving her, the better she'll take it and it's true. She will stay with anyone (babysitter or family) with no problem. So I remind myself of that when he's crying

My will be 3 months old when I have to return to work. I'm so attached to them and I know I am going to be a wreck on the first day of school. What will keep me going is knowing that I'm going to come home to their beautiful little faces. I'm so fortunate that my DH and MIL are able to watch them during the day.

I'm fortunate that our moms will be watching DS, but I'm jealous that they will get to spend their days with him. He is so amazing and I'm in love with him! But I think that having family watch him makes it easier as well as knowing that I still get afternoons with him. And like PP said, once the day starts, there is too much to do which is why teaching is a great escape!
When I told DH that I was jealous about his mom watching my DD, he got upset with me I am grateful that my DD with be with her grandma, but I can't help but feel really left out of her daily routine. I have been home with her now for 2 months and she is doing such cute things (she's 9.5 months). I am losing sleep over it and don't know how to get out of this funk :( Financially it's the best decision for us for me to be at work, but I just wish I could win the lotto tomorrow!
