Over the last few days I’ve been in Walmart, kohls, stop and shop, cvs, Jersey Mike’s. Went maskless in every store except Jersey Mike’s (people were in line without a mask- I wasn’t sure of their policy and had it on already ) no issues .
Haven’t come across a store where they require them.

The only store that I know of is King Kullen. My parents are friends with a manager at one of their stores and they are still requiring them regardless.

So far only the pool store still had a sign that masks were required. And an Ace hardware but then inside there several people, including employees were without them. So maybe they just never removed the sign

Anyone in NY gone to a store today
Went to the pool store yesterday - masks required
Went out to a bar/restaurant with a live band playing last night. Masks required to enter. Had to stay at table or wear mask when getting up and the actual bar part of the place was not open - only waitress service available. Servers all wearing masks. No dance floor, but at the very end, a few people got up and danced.
Went to a vineyard/restaurant on Thursday - sign at door said those who are fully vaccinated did not need to wear a mask - but they were not asking for proof

Anyone in NY gone to a store today
Kohls Sunday afternoon.... Crowded (last day to use Kohl's cash) About 90% of people had masks on. No one seems to be keeping a distance on lines. Again, everyone seemed respectful.

The hospitals in Texas did not have a spike after the mandate was lifted. It was lifted and there was media panic, nothing happened and no one heard anything since.

My daughter had gymnastics yesterday- all along this gymnastics place only required masks for adults- never for the children students... ...never an outbreak there either- but I digress....
The sign on the door always said- all adults must wear masks to enter.
The sign yesterday said- If you are vaccinated you no longer need to wear a mask to enter...but we won't ask you because it's none of our business.
I have yet to see any business ask for any proof. Just the ones who don't want to let people unmask continue to have their signs saying masks required.
I think that will be how it goes for the most part....
Oh believe me there are a few that have that as a rule. Some rectify their signs once they realize they’re getting themselves in muddy waters like discrimination based on medical status but others do not care. If I see another one that’s requiring proof of vaccination, I’ll post it in here.
That would be terrific if you could post proof of the businesses which are asking for proof of vaccine.
Lavish is one of those places.
Pine Ridge Dude Ranch
9 Maple Ave
Again, there are businesses asking for proof although it does seem that a good amount of businesses are either not asking for proof or were at some point but now are not anymore. Hopefully as times passes, more will join and stop asking for proof.

Anyone in NY gone to a store today
Every store and bank I've been in the last few days still required a mask. Even the deli. I'm still wearing one... when at the park I wear one, when alone keep one in my hand. When I come near others I put it on. MD office are still mandating masks

Re: Anyone in NY gone to a store today
I had run around to a few places today..
The pool store..masks required sign but about 30% of the people were unmasked including some staff. This is where I saw the largest number of unmasked people
Walgreens - masks suggested for unvaccinated people - I saw about 3 people without masks
Grocery store - masks needed for unvaccinated people - I saw 2 people without one.
I definitely feel like as time passes more and more people will ditch the mask.

Anyone in NY gone to a store today
Target in Nassau County - still had mask sign up and while I was there at least. I went through every aisle, it's a target express, or whatever the smaller targets are called, and every customer and employee was masked.

Interesting. I went to stop & Shop ( in Westchester) & it was 100% masks--staff & customers, as was Whole Foods, Dunkin, & the local deli & take out places I went to. The salons all still have signs up, but I haven't gone in.
Stop & Shop still made their announcements about 6 feet, 1 direction traffic, masks, and only sending 1 family member to the store at a time.

Stop and Shop needs to get out of April 2020. That announcement is so old and not one person adheres to it. Especially the one way aisles.

I do! It's annoying when you forget something, but it actually helps- ( in general, not just for covid) because the aisles are so crowded with those display stands--there are always traffic jams.
But we have been ignoring the only send 1 person to the store since the fall.
At least they aren't limiting paper product purchases anymore.

Re: Anyone in NY gone to a store today
I went to Stop & Shop last week and there was only 1 family of 4 not wearing masks. Everyone else had masks on. I saw the employees whispering to each other like they didn’t know what to do.
I stopped following those one way arrows a long time ago. I shop very early in the morning and am usually the only one in the aisles so it’s never been an issue. No one has ever said anything to me.
I also went to Trader Joe’s and most of the people were unmasked. Same for my gym - only a couple people had masks on.

Anyone in NY gone to a store today
We went food shopping, eye doctor and the mall and almost everyone was masked. Maybe a few people at the mall didn't have one on - but that's about it.

Re: Anyone in NY gone to a store today
It is so ridiculous. People should do what they feel comfortable doing. If you are vaccinated and want to take your mask off, then do it, and should not have to feel guilty, or feel like people are staring at them. Those that are not, should do the right thing. We live in a society, where people are so darn judgmental.

Re: Anyone in NY gone to a store today
Not one place since Thursday I have been to required masks. The suggest and say unvaccinated should wear them but no asking.
For people who might be going to weddings, they had masks that the bridal couple probably purchased as they were to their theme but offered, not handed out to make you think you needed to wear them. Dancing open, no masks or social distancing required. All staff wore masks. You choice.
Places under 500 people do not require testing.

I went to home depot Friday night- it was the first time I'd been in a store since the new guidelines and I wasn't sure what to do- we wore masks in the store (when we were outside in garden center, we didn't) and this lady comes walking towards us, no mask on- I didn't even really think about it and she's says, crazy loud "look at these idiots! they voted for this F'ing president and they won't even listen to him now!" and her and her husband thought it was hilarious. Plenty of people around us had masks on, so I don't know that she was talking about us specifically. But, the point is- I didn't care she wasn't wearing one, WHY did she care that I was? That's what bothers me. MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS.

That's crazy! Someone told me in Shop Rite today that Home Depot was still requiring masks.
I've gone to Shop Rite 2x without masks and I was definitely in the minority. Today a cashier almost yelled at me because he had been out a few days and I was unmasked. I wish I had worn a mask because it took about 10 minutes longer than anticipated and I needed to get home to start work and get my son to school.

Um if you are unvaccinated aren't you STILL supposed to wear a mask? How would she have known you were or weren't?

Stop and Shop still has the sign outside about the emergency mask order (The original one before he ammended it to say vaccinated don't need one) and how masks are required. Inside I saw maybe 4-5 people without one though. Very few. But clearly they weren't listening to the store's rules either
