Anyone in NY gone to a store today
Target Saturday afternoon. I would say about 80% of the people were masked. (I count masks below the nose as unmasked.) One Target employee did not have a mask on. When one lady entered my aisle with her mask down, she pulled it up when she saw me (with mask on). So I think people are being respectful.

Re: Anyone in NY gone to a store today
I was at a Starbucks earlier and about 40-50% were unmasked. No one was making it into a big deal and I didn’t notice anyone giving nasty looks, either masked or unmasked. Over the past few days I’ve seen more and more without masks and it seems to be becoming more normal, as it should.
Absolutely no one should remove their mask before they’re ready, but if you’re vaccinated and ready, by all means rip that bad boy off!

Yup was in hair salon a long time so saw a lot go in and out. At one time all unmasked but 1 employee. Then a bunch all kept them on.

Younger kids and older woman all unmasked too so not just one selfish age as many choose to think.

My daughter had gymnastics yesterday- all along this gymnastics place only required masks for adults- never for the children students... ...never an outbreak there either- but I digress....
The sign on the door always said- all adults must wear masks to enter.
The sign yesterday said- If you are vaccinated you no longer need to wear a mask to enter...but we won't ask you because it's none of our business.
I have yet to see any business ask for any proof. Just the ones who don't want to let people unmask continue to have their signs saying masks required.
I think that will be how it goes for the most part....
Oh believe me there are a few that have that as a rule. Some rectify their signs once they realize they’re getting themselves in muddy waters like discrimination based on medical status but others do not care. If I see another one that’s requiring proof of vaccination, I’ll post it in here.

That would be terrific if you could post proof of the businesses which are asking for proof of vaccine.

Re: Anyone in NY gone to a store today
Went out to dinner tonight ..no masks required to enter anymore or move about the restaurant. Staff was still masked. No questions asked. Honestly, I don't think the majority of these businesses, especially small businesses care. They've had a rough year...they are just thankful for the business

Anyone in NY gone to a store today
I was in a store on LI today and was positive I wouldn’t see a single mask. Wrong. Everyone had a mask. I didn’t see anyone without one.

I have yet to see anyone unmasked and I have been to plenty of places that do not require masks in Queens, Nassau & Suffolk in the last few days. The one exception was Tuesday night, day before new rules went into place and I went into a shady convenience store on my way home to get a mega million ticket since I heard it was a huge jackpot....guy in his 60's , smoker, either cashing in or buying a ton of tickets/scratch-offs was at counter with no mask...but you could tell he was exactly the type of person who never wore one.

That’s my hope, that most businesses don’t ask for vaccination proof, or if they decided to ask for proof, I hope they can change their minds because they can potentially set themselves up for lawsuits and knowing how much our small businesses have suffered already, that’d be the last thing they need. I’ve actually seen a couple of businesses that have indeed changed that rule and have decided to not ask for proof anymore, I’m glad they’ve decided to take that stance and I hope more do the same.

99.9% NO masks tonight where I went. Maximum 500 allowed in. Not sure how true that number was. It was wonderful to be normal.

I doubt this. Unless it was an anti-mask rally

I’ve seen a couple weddings on my social media recently and there have been no masks in any photos....not even on chins. People dancing.
Did you see the islander game? I had a friend posting videos. Both sections weren’t wearing masks. Vaccinated section was literally on top of each other singing and yelling...nice to see normalcy. (Apparently if you buy popcorn you don’t need a mask bc your eating it the whole game lol)
I see an even 50/50 places. I see less masks at places you just run into quickly, like Starbucks to get a mobile order vs. grocery shopping. I’ve seen no confrontations. Seems like everyone is respecting everyone’s personal decision.

Places are allowed to have 500 people now. Again, confirmation of vaccination is not being asked at most places.

Yup they showed the crowd on tv and you are correct. It is crazy to see people without masks places. It feels surreal lol

Not judging. I was genuinely surprised. The funny part is I was holding our masks when I took my DD out of the car and figured we’d put them on then we got across the parking lot. Some guy gave me a look I’m like “no! I have them right here! Relax!” Of all the places I thought I’d get a look south shore Nassau wasn’t one of them!

We went to Walmart yesterday, and it was 50/50. I decided to take my mask off, and there were NO stares at all. Same thing today in Stop and Shop. I think it is slowly easing up.

I think people are afraid of backlash from others or they might just not be ready which is fine.

Anyone in NY gone to a store today
Over the last few days I’ve been in Walmart, kohls, stop and shop, cvs, Jersey Mike’s. Went maskless in every store except Jersey Mike’s (people were in line without a mask- I wasn’t sure of their policy and had it on already ) no issues .
