Anyone know what is going on in Fort Salonga?
on bread and cheese hollow road near the corner of pulaski road? Its been closed off all day and all I can see is police tape everywhere.
Even pulaski road is closed and a portion of townline rd
I would think its more then just the usual accident because the police have been there for hours!!
It doesn't look good whatever it is

We heard A LOT of sirens (police and fire) leaving the E. Npt fire station this morning around 7:30-ish. DH and I were wondering where they were going and what happened. It was way more than usual. I haven't heard anything. Doesn't sound good : (

A garbage truck tipped and fell onto a car killing the driver.

Its KP at that intersection but someone else told me they heard ALOT of sirens from fire trucks this morning early too. I hope everything is ok, my friends parents live in a house that is included in the police tape

UGHHH i work right there at the VA hospital...... I pray for whomever was killed, but I am really nervous that it's a fellow employee or veteran. How scary..... there are lots of accidents right there.

I was thinking the same thing. It happened around that time that the traffic is heavy going towards the VA hospital

Stuff that that scares the cr@p out of me because no matter how careful a driver you are- you could be just sitting at a light and BOOM you're dead.
Really goes to show you how short and fragile life is!

He had to have been flying when he made that turn. Whether you're coming from east or west on Pulaski, both go down hill. So so sad.
I hope that she didn't know what happened.

I wasn't going to post this but those darn garbage trucks are ALWAYS flying. They even race cars out of the dump which is just up the road. I HATE them!!  they are forever driving recklessly. I should drive through the dumps to get to work as its the shortest way from my house, but in recent months I have had so many near accidents with them that I have changed my route to avoid them as much as possible which adds time on my drive. Some days there are police cars just sitting outside the entrance where they come in and go out and I'm pretty sure they are there because of all the complaints! They are forever going through the light there, like it doesn't even exist. And as you can see from the pics on the link, even though he is on his side, he was WAY to far into her lane, which makes me believe he was going way to fast and cutting that corner short because of it. But I wasn't there, so I am no accusing him.

I clicked on the link and just saw the first picture - when I saw the posts about how the driver never had a chance, I clicked on the link of pics... wow. That is just horrible.

Im originally from Kings Park and I couldnt agree more, they drive like LUNATICS over there, like they own the road. I also try to avoid going that way if at all possible.

This is within a mile of where I live. I've noticed the driving of the trucks myself - not just sanitation but construction as well. All of those companies are in the area and use those roads to drive every single day. I feel so bad for the victim and her family - how terrible.
When my sister taught her first year she shared a classroom with a young woman (another teacher) who was crushed by a sanitation truck when it turned and flipped over onto her car. This is exactly the same situation. She was on her way to mail her thank you cards from her wedding.
for that woman's family.
