BTDT Moms - Hospital Bag

I'm starting to think about the things I need to get together for my hospital bag while I still have the energy.

What toiletries did you pack? What did you find were absolutely necessary and what could you have lived without?

You're going to laugh, but I LOVED wearing Depends underwear and swear all new moms should wear them! I found it so comfy and useful to wear the first few days. I put one of the big bulky pads from the hospital in it to absorb MOST of the discharge, but it never caught it all. I also draped a thick pad across my C/S scar to cushion it. The Depends come up high enough to hold it in place.

I would also pack the very high waisted granny undies (you know, the ones above your belly button) in case you have a c/s and you don't want to wear the Depends underwear.

I def. agree about bringing a razor, all the shower toiletries you will need, and maybe even your own pillow to sleep on.

I also packed candy to suck on, had DH bring in drinks like iced tea, and small snacks like granola bars for the days following delivery.

Oh, and bring old slippers AND flip flops that you will be willing to part with. Flip flops for the shower, slippers for everything else. Throw BOTH away when you leave.

Also, find out if your hospital supplies blow dryers, mine did not so I had wet hair!

Honestly, I thought I'd need so much and I really used the bare minimum! I was lucky enough to have a very short hospital stay

make sure you bring your Insurance cards and id!!!
toiletries
-body wash
-face soap
-moisturizer
-razor
-toothbrush
-toothpaste
-deoderant
-pads

clothes
-a couple of pairs of maternity yoga pants/sweats
-a couple nursing tanks
-nursing bra
-several pairs of granny panties
-socks with grips on the bottom
-ballet slippers
-light robe
*forgot flip flops for the shower...a friend brought them up for me!

misc
-boppy pillow
-cell phone charger
-celebrity gossip magazines

Don't stress out about the bag...pack what you think you'll need and if you forget anything, your hubby can always bring it up to the hospital for you!

I would bring dark color sweat pants. Things are VERY messy after birth.

I brought magazines and stuff for me, never got to look at them. I gave birth 8PM Sat and was out Monday AM.

During labor I really enjoyed the crest wisp toothbrushes...you're not allowed to drink anything and they defiently helped. I had a csec so I agree get granny panties, I also used a lot of body wash it was easier than soap and smelled good which made feel human again, bring flip flops to walk around in.

toothbrush, toothpaste, MINTS I always felt like my breath was gross, I wore my own ROBE over the hospital gown the whole time so comfy (I had a csection) my makeup bag, brush, phone chargers ,and hair dryer MOST IMPORTANT my MAC BOOK
